Bakers Pink

Amazingly unknown
I first learned of this group by completely random chance. I picked up the cassette back in the nineties out of a sale bin, of all places. A decade later, it is still one of my favorite albums of all time. This album has some great songs on it, "Madly, truly, deeply", "Burn On", and "Lonely, Lonely, Lonely" chief among them. Bought the CD because the album is not available on itunes. If you enjoy 90's alternative rock, you cannot go wrong with Baker's Pink. Highly recommended

You can change the name, but you cant change AWESOME
Being a fan of The Front (former band name of this artist) for over 25 yrs., I pretty much knew the Franano brothers would deliver an excellent aural snapshot.. and Bakers Pink does NOT disappoint. Soul stirring lyrics, and AWESOME composition, might have you forgetting this is a rock album!

Baker's Pink
Baker's Pink cd rocked. Sounded of The Front, another great band by Baker's Pink front man. Definitely worth the money and also recommend The Front.

Looking for the Front
Way back around 1989, I saw a band called "Front" at a small club in Syracuse NY. I thought they were a great live band, had a pretty good hit, and sounded a lot different from anything that was out at the time. I expected big things from "Front." But they disapperaed, never to release another album and never to be heard from again. So, I put in that old cd the other day, remembered how much I liked it, and did some digging to find some memebers, including the singer, released this album in 1993. I bought it quickly and was very impressed. The last 3 tracks are the best of the album and also some of the finest songs I have ever heard. If I had one complaint, it is the album mix. The opening track is a snoozer of a song, and the disc kind of plods along a little until the last 3 songs. Truly, Madly, deeply should have opened the disc, with track 8 in the coveted 3 spot. Anyway, I was a fan and missed this the first time around. 14 years later and I think it sounds good. Give it a shot.

Somehow Overlooked
I recently went back to listen to some older music and it still amazes me how good this cd is yet how under appreciated or overlooked this band was. I believe it's because they kind of fell within the hard rock classification just when that was going out of favor and when alternative music was coming into favor. I believe this release could be classified as either (rock or alternative music) but either way it is very good. Standouts for me are Untouched, Lonely Lonely Lonely, Madly Truly Deeply, and Water Colors. Would have been nice to see some more music from them in addition to their release as The Front.

Early 90s lost gem...
I just plunked this CD from my collection today to download to my I-pod. Haven't listened to it in years and now that I'm listening to it right now I'm brought back to when I heard these guys and discovered this CD. It's really an amazing collection of music on here. Ballads, rockers, a bit psychedelic in that Jane's Addiction'y kind of way. Great instrumentation, killer vocals and a combination of melody and harmony that more people really should have gotten a taste of. Why some bands hit it big and others don't is one of life's great mysteries but I agree with some of the other reviewers. This is an excellent CD, worth tracking down and giving a chance to. Bakers Pink where are you now? Wherever you guys are, you did a hell of a job back in '93 on this CD. You shoulda/coulda been a contender. Take care people...

Pleasurville
I've brought this cd maybe a dozen times since it release, if i break or scratched it i always find a way to replace asap...the singer Michael Franano-has one of the most breathtakingvoices that didn't get a chance to make it big..if this cdwas every re-released they would more then take the music world by storm...it's more then worth listening too!
