Firstly, the strap. Smarter than it appears in the Amazon photograph. The navy face and strap look really nice. Face is easy to read day and night. Runs 4-5 seconds fast. This can vary a little, so mechanical watches tend to be set a little fast to avoid being late. Value for money is incredible. Recently bought a Russian mechanical watch, but recent events naturally leave me too embarrassed to ware it. This is a lovely and better value alternative.

For a long time I've wanted and old-fashioned mechanical watch to balance out all my high-tech mountaineering ones. I thought that they'd all be too much money, so when I found this I was delighted. Simple, clear, reliable and elegant, it's just the watch I hoped for. I'm so happy with my purchase.

I tried for four days to get this watch to operate for more than a few hours but it failed each time

Nice looking watch, however, considering it is an automatic watch you would think that the watch would be able to accurately keep time over one week. The watch is approx five minutes behind after three to four days.

I do like analogue watches and normally spend less than £40 on a watch as they never last. I decided to spend a bit more and am pleased with the result. The strap is comfortable and copes well with sweat from heat and rain without the smell you get from leather straps. The dial will glow in dim light and is easy to read and the date can be read.
