I bought this for myself as I'm not a great fan of dressing up and thought that this would be a nice, cheap and funny way to wear my usual clothes and yet still be in fancy dress.As others have stated, however, no adult could possibly wear this for more than a couple of minutes as the tiny headband is painful and feels like it is cutting off blood supply to my scalp. The axe part is about as unrealistic as you could possibly get, save getting a toddler to draw an axe of a piece of cardboard for you. It is also one sided so, actually, a piece of cardboard may be more effective as you could draw on both sides.As for it being good for a laugh, my 2 year old son didn't find it funny, and he finds everything funny!To summarise, I am sorry that I bought this. I should have listened to the other reviews rather than thinking that they were just moaning. Even for the money this is a waste of time. I can't even be bothered to return it as it would end up costing me about the same as the product itself.

I purchased this for my husband who is fairly anti-fancy dress!However, the product arrived today and the headband the hatchet is attached to is TINY! We put it on our cat (hilarious for us, not so for him).... there's NO WAY that an adult could wear this, possibly a small child.... If I had seen this in a shop I would have seen the tiny sized headband and wouldnt have bought this for my husband.Also the product doesnt carry on the design at the vack, so people behind you wouldnt get the full effect. The 'blood' doesnt look real but nothing that some ketchup/passata wouldn't fix.On a positive, it's a funny idea....

Our only criticism of this item is that the headband is designed to fit a child and not an adult as shown in the picture. However, this was overcome by gently heating the fairly brittle plastic with a hairdryer and carefully reshaping the band. It looks great and for the money it's difficult to complain.

This will be a good stocking filler for my 11 year old son who loves to prank everyone. The band across the head is tiny so fingers crossed it will fit him when the time comes. Most likely to fit a 5-6 year old. For the price you pay it's not too bad.

Make sure you buy some foam or something to go onto the ends of this, it will dig into your head and does hurt a tad. I bought this for my 8 year old son to wear, and he couldn't, I really don't see how this could fit an adult in all fairness.

This says adult but is very tight on my 8 year old son's head, who I don't think has a big head!!

Effective and did the job, but the headband is quite small and dug into my head a bit. Maybe I just have a big head!The axe effect is only on the front side, so not quite the same look from behind - but good product at a low price and speedy delivery.
