I bought this product with high hopes to deter squirrels making a mess in my pool which is below 2 pine trees that the neighborhood squirrels tend to love. I have 3 rows of metallic spikes meant to block them but it only slow them down (another product failure). I put these stinky balls all at once on the spikes. The squirrels not only passed by without being deterred one of them even smelled them for a short second and continued its way up.Maybe it works if there is no food for them but it is NOT a deterrent for hungry squirrels. And I love garlic but almost threw up just putting up these balls with gloves. DO wear gloves it is very hard to get rid of the smell on your hands and it is nauseating. My thin plastic gloves left a bit of the smell go through.

I have a squirrel problem on my deck where I have a bunch of herbs and vegetables growing in pots. I also have a cat problem. Too many people who feed cats around here and they end up on my deck every so often. I put two of these balls between my plants no squirrels, no cats. I saw one cat who likes to hang out on my deck take one step on and turn around and run away. As other people have said, use latex gloves when handling this product it smells to high heaven. But it seems to work.

As horrible as these balls smell, one day I watch the squirrel come up to the balls, smell them and happily climb the tree to pull the fruit. I applied several balls around the area and from the tree. These balls do not work and are a waste of my money.

First of all, these little balls are pretty smelly, so open them outside. I hung these in my peach tree, near the clusters of peaches. The tree smells like garlic, but they did help keep the squirrels away. My tree is huge for a peach, so next year I will order 2 boxes and see if I can keep a few more away. They did last long after I harvested peaches, so no worries there. Will order more next spring and see how it goes.

As I look out my kitchen window into back yard I see no signs of the adolescent squirrels resting and moving around after strategic placement of the naturally odiferous balls! Next to hiring pest control or using poison this product is great for temporary squirrel abatement. Hopefully over time the squirrels will move on to another area to dig a den and live.

I hang this product on a fruit tree. As you can see the squirrel is only about 3 feet away from this product and it does not look the product has an impact on the squirrel. The squirrel was walking around the mesh fence and this product. Finally the squirrel got into the metal fence and freely climbed up the tree. Totally waste of money.

The squirrels don't seem to even notice these things are under their noses. I think they stink but the squirrels don't seem to mind them at all.

I recommend it for sweeping off chipmunks from your back yard.But smell for 1 - 1.5 months. After that they will come back;-) be ready to replace it periodically.squirrels do not care about it. They were away three days or something after that started to ignore it:)
