The theory is that suspending bananas in the air disperses the ethylene they produce, thereby retarding the ripening process so that they look (and taste...) like good bananas beyond the usual day or two after they're purchased.This holder looks good and performs its mission admirably.

Very sturdy and well balanced
The cheaper plastic stands usually lose their hooks or easily topple over. We decided to try a metal stand with a unique curve and a very sturdy well balanced hook . It looks artistic and does the job well.
