Almost everything you need to get started, or as a backup.
I was traveling and needed a soldering iron, but mine were all back home. This was cheap and complete. The only thing that would make it even more complete would be a bit of rosin. The iron heats up quickly, and the kit has everything you need to get some soldering done. The numbering on the temperature dial is microscopic to the point that it's tough for my aging eyes to tell which direction is hotter, let alone what the actual temperature was supposed to be. It's still working fine after a number of uses. Everything being in a single case makes it convenient enough that I've grabbed this instead of my normal desk station a few times since purchase. I don't think I'd depend on this if I was a professional running it hours every day, but for home use it's working just fine.

Perfect for general light use
I purchased this for general use that’s not specific for soldering use. Mainly to cut/melt through some plastics. It’s a nice utility tool to have and in my handful of uses it worked well. It seemed to give accurate temperatures and the overall quality seemed durable enough. There’s a few different tips for different uses and they seemed to give accurate application to the tip. Easy to hold and use and cleaning was simple enough with the provided sponge. The only thing I didn’t like was the stand which you have to bend to use. If you wanted to store it in a slim configuration you would have to bend it back. Obviously if you keep bending it back and forth it’s eventually going to snap. Other than that, it’s a decent general soldering gun.

Soldering iron
I do lots of electronics work. These don't last that long but when they work there the best to use for electronics and soldering. Their cheap enough so in my opinion it's worth it.

LOVE it!
For years I thought I was awful at Soldering. I couldn't get any solder to stick to anything. It always took forever to get hot enough to melt any and it would just roll around, no matter how I tinned or fluxed my iron. I was told it was a good iron and though it was vintage 80's, most of the vintage stuff I have is still functional. Clearly my old soldering iron was NOT. Turns out it wasn't getting nearly hot enough, also it weighed a ton and was cumbersome. This new one is lightweight enough to feel "cheap" but that is a GOOD THING when you're wrangling little bits of things. It's very easy to maneuver because of it's light weight and the holder I got with mine matches the one in the item photos! It's VERY nice and the iron doesn't slip forward like it tends to with the cone shaped holders! I even used the wire stripper, some of the included wire (to make a battery adapter) and the solder sucker. It all worked great. The only thing that might be a bit iffy is the tweezers. They're very soft and bend easily, but since they're for tiny capacitors, it shouldn't matter. Just be gentle with them and don't use them for something they're not intended for. One thing I would have added is a small Phillips head screwdriver as the wire part of the holder does need to be tightened to the base. Otherwise, it's a very complete kit! The case itself is even very nice and feels durable.

Ok - not great, but OK
I am an experienced electronics hobbyist and own better soldering irons and tools than those provided in this bundle, but I ordered it because I'm staying at a place where I don't have access to my usual workshop and needed something quick 'n dirty to use until I get my workshop moved.I chose this kit based on the positive reviews and the fact that it included most of the basic tools one needs for soldering jobs. It does come with a decent set of accessories for the price. I especially appreciated the inclusion of an assortment of replacement tips for the iron.None of the tools are of exceptional quality - either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. Here are some of the good and bad points:[bad] Most of the tools exhibited some "fit and finish" deficiencies, some minor, others not-so-minor. The temperature dial label on the soldering iron was not seated on the dial evenly. The soldering stand is too light and has a tendency to tip when the iron is placed in the holder - a significant safety hazard. The iron spring holder attaches to the base with only one screw (and no lockwasher) so it has a tendency to loosen and move about (yet another safety hazard). The wire stripper is a joke. The tweezer tips do not quite line up parallel to each other when closed.[bad] The soldering iron takes over 90 seconds to reach solder-melt temperature (with the temp. dial set to 350 C). This is about 3x slower than my Weller station. There is no indication on the iron that the tip has reached the set temperature.[good] The case is nothing special, but it does make it easy to keep everything together and transport. The quality of the case is decent.[good] As previously mentioned, one of the included items in this kit are replacement tips for the iron, in an assortment of shapes/sizes. It is unlikely that I'll ever have to locate and buy tips for this.[good] The iron includes an inline power switch - a nice convenience.[good] The iron is compact and lightweight. I was comfortable working with it.[neutral] I kinda wish that the kit had come with a small amount of solder braid (wick), some rosin and some tip tinner - if it had, it would have truly been a complete soldering kit. However, some of these items can be a bit costly so it is understandable why they were not included in an inexpensive kit such as this.Would I recommend this kit to a friend? Maybe. If price were an overriding concern, and the use of the tool was for light duty work, I might recommend it - with reservations.

Great value for money.
I have no prior soldering experience.I've used it to successfully swap pickups in one my guitar. The price of the kit, is cheaper than the cost of a technician to the swap.
