I used this in tight spaces and it works perfectly. I keep it in a plastic bag, though, because it could be impregnated with fire-resistant chemicals and pfoas.

The blanket withstood about 2 minutes of welding and melted. Cannot possibly be the carbon fiber it claims to be.

I waz able to complete my task. See the attached photo. I only did not find a way how to hold and sold at the same time when you alone. I think if you work alone you need to use type to fix barrier at proper position...

Good welding blanket - I really like the cutout to make it easy to position around a pipe. It has snaps to hold the blanket together after you place it over the pipe.The material is a bit thin for my liking - it doesn't seem very heavy duty. But I did use it for a project that required about 20 soldered joints close to a wall and the blanket did its job just fine - no damage to the wall at all. The blanket did smoke a bit the first few blasts with the torch, but then I guess the flammable bits burned off and it worked fine after that. After my project, I noticed the blanket started to tear a little bit at the hole. It can still be used just fine, and I only needed it for the project, but I wish it was a bit thicker and heavier duty feeling.

The blankets appear to be fire proof, but I found them pretty thin and the material I was hoping to protect behind the blankets, what I wanted to protect from exposure from the flame, still got burned/charred. I guess charred is better than starting on fire, so the blankets add value, but they did not perform up to my expectations.

Awesome, soaked it in water and then applied to soldering area which was a very tight fit and all is good.

Used for soldering pipe inside house that was against wood. It kept the wood from starting on fire. It worked.!!!
