Features: This is a great, brand new indoor / outdoor thermometer hygrometer combination. About 1.5m long thin wire. It can easily be routed through a window frame to measure outdoor conditions. Great to make sure you set your air conditioner to a comfortable temperature. It can also be used for science projects or terrariums Outdoor -58.0 to 158.0 ┬░F / -50.0 to 70.0 ┬░C Indoor 32 to 122.0 ┬░F / 0 to 50.0 ┬░C

Cheap, it lasted 15 months.
Bought this to replace an Oregon Scientific one when the outside sensor broke off after 15 years hanging outside the window in all weathers. They don't seem to make that model anymore and I could not find another suitable OS one, so I thought I would give this a try.The cable is too short for me. I think it is 1.5 metres. It means that it has to stay near the window much closer than I would like. It seems to be accurate. Like all outside thermometers, the sensor has to be in the shade to give a correct reading.Unfortunately, after 15 months, the outside display has gone blank on the screen, but the indoor display is OK. I think the sensor must have failed. We are in a heatwave and it has been exposed to the sun for much of the day. Can't really complain as this is a cheap thermometer and it is still useful as an indoor thermometer (and relative humidity if you want to know that). But you might want to pay a bit more for something of better quality.I wouldn't buy it again because of the length of the sensor wire, not being long enough. I have found a specialist supplier that does dedicated outdoor thermometers with longer cables. They are more expensive but should hopefully last longer.

Works very well
I bought this to make a record of the variation in temperature between indoors and out at my flat in Valencia. It has performed perfectly. With the sensor on the cable out of the window and the main unit inside, every 24hrs for some days I have hit the max and min memory buttons and I now have a clear idea of what my A/C will have to cope with when it is installed.Update 07/07/2019. Continues to work perfectly. I use it to monitor the indoor temp of my bedroom so I can set the air conditioning to the most economical setting. The outdoor max for this year so far is shown on the photo. Note that the max/min/humidity readings are not necessarily of the same day.It would be great if there was a clock/calendar to record the readings and date-stamp the max/min/HgFor people with garden sheds or greenhouses where they need to see that the temp inside is tolerable to their plants when it's dangerously low outside, this is the gismo for you.

Unexpected Hygrometer
Unfortunately, as some other reviewers have found, the item received was not the one described/photographed on the Amazon listing. In fact on taking it out of the cardboard packaging, the item was even different the one that was shown on the box it came in! The digital indoor/outdoor thermometer supplied cames with a hygrometer reader, which was unexpected (and unwanted). The digital display is large and easy to read, the plastic casing doesn't look too cheap and the thermometer itself works reasonably well - the box does state that you should expect a +/- 1C in accuracy, and this has proven to be the case. There is no AAA battery suplied. The instructions to insert the battery are hilarious, starting with step 1 - "the battery opened below the support is covered". I have yet to manage to understand how to reset the max/min settings, but that's hardly surprising when instructed to "press reset key and remove at present, quantity is examined and will go on automatically again". If you are going to buy this sort of thermometer then I would recommend you go for the one at the lowest price so at least you will be expecting something something mass produced cheaply in China. Three stars for a reasonable product that does work, arrived quickly and well packaged.

Pleased with it
I had the previous model to this and it lasted a good few years despite being dropped on a number of occasions. The new one, however, has a shorter external temperature sensor lead than the older model which makes it slightly less convenient to use than the older one. Also, on the front of the packet it also states that is a hygrometer as well as a thermometer. It isn't. The instructions are also written by somebody with little knowledge of English but to use it is self explanatory. It is accurate to within + or - 1c so it's not a scientific instrument but for a greenhouse it's accurate enough. Overall, I'm pleased with it (so far)

Great purchase!
This represents great value for money and does exactly what I want it to do - nothing fancy but the display is clear and it was very simple to operate. I also award it 5 stars for the entertainment value of the instructions. I don't know what language it has been translated from but they were very amusing - as for example: "Choice it is can for any time C or F" and "the instrument has one string to deduct location behind one's back and prop up the board.." or how about "put the battery in accordance with the instructions of straight negative pole". Don't worry though - fortunately it is simple enough to work out without having to understand the instructions!

Reliable
I bought the thermometer months ago, The first one I received was faulty and was replaced quickly and I'm very pleased with it.I drilled a hole through the wall as I didn't want to make a hole in my sash window that would have made it awkward to open. I extended the hole a few inches with a piece of brass pipe to keep the probe away from the stone wall as it soaks up the sunshine and gets warm to get a more accurate outside temperature. I also made sure it was in the shade and above most snowfalls.I'm surprised, and pleased, by the accuracy of this cheap thermometer, and I'm still on my first set of batteries.

Not recommended
This thermometer is ok but I often like to see last nights outside temperature the next day but with this device you need to reset it the day before which I never remember to do, will be looking for an alternative which records the temp in the past 24 hrs updating all the time without having to have a reset button pushed. For example today it says the outside min temp is 6.5 degrees however the temperature hasn't been that low for several weeks now we are in June.
