Strong magnets okay hardware overall great value and I need the pair to hold my 6.5" 1 would work for anything smaller or if I held it by the rail.

Solid hold. It's more plastic than rubber but will not mar a good slide finish.
Haven't decided where to use all of them besides one in the truck driver side but they seem to hold very well and the price for 4 was better than other deals I could find.
