No climbing a ladder
Ok I was skeptical, but ordered anyway I am 70 year old woman, who did not want to climb a ladder and didn't , I have lots of trees , leaves were filling/ overflowing my gutters, I'm on a fixed income who can affordto pay someone ? my gutters, thank goodness are 10 to 12 feet high I had a pole from a painting project I attached it to the device, to clean my front gutters , it was tricky my roof shingles slightly over hangs the edge of gutters connected to my home , making for a tight squeeze lifting device full of leaves out of the gutter , I had to manipulate it slightly sideways to get device and leaves out , which became stressful or tiresome, but I persued, it does work with patience plus trial and error I truly believe there could be some improvements made to this device , making it better , like cup shaped scoops, instead of salad tongs , cups would hold and bring out more leaves at each grasp and a eye type hook to place on pole to lock, or clip rope taught into position so the forks don't loose grasp/tension while bringing out each scoop of leaves I have to pick up a longer pole for my back gutter , and my front gutters need doing again , but it's something I can do safely from the ground and encourage anyone who needs to clean their gutters to give it a try , it's not hard it's just repetitive Update I used the gutter cleaner 3 more times as leaves continue to fall and fill gutters , each time used I am able to maneuover device better each time The secret is to attach device to extension pole with the clear fishing line in front of the pole not riding on or behind device , the pictures do not clearly show this Once I attached the device with fishing line in front of the pole , I was able to firmly hold pressure on the cord and bring large scoopful of leaves and debris out of the gutter , it makes an amazing difference in the amount of leaves retrieved

Weak spring, disappointing performance
Had a Guttersense for about 5 years, prior to this unit. The plastic wire on my first one snapped and I figured it'd be easier to get a new one. So I ordered this replacement unit and it arrived quickly as expected. My first surprise was that it's not the original brand. I decided to put it to use today anyway. After 1st use, I did not like the product performance: My biggest issue was with the strength of the spring. Imagine you're cleaning your gutters with this: you pull the cord to grab leaves, then you supposedly drop it and proceed to grab more leaves. After doing it a few times, I noticed the the clamps wouldn't open anymore. So I had to keep shaking it, bumping it against the roof in order to open the clamps, you get the picture. Very annoying, not to mention after 30 mins you get pretty tired of doing this. The spring that opens the clamp is simply not strong enough, so the product overall quality and performance was very disappointing.

Works good, but not designed to handle "wet" leaves very well, best when leaves are dry
Can't work the tool too much to the right, as the end will come unscrewed. Did do the job I needed - but just longer than expected. More than likely will replace the fishing line with trimmer line. Wear gloves when using to pull down on the rope.

Design Could be Improved
The grabber works as advertised, but not that well. It's difficult to close the arms together to keep the debris in its grasp, especially when trying to navigate out of a gutter from a distant location on the ground. In addition, the user is working against the spring, which wants to keep the arms open and not closed on the debris. Hence, lots of attempts fail because of the obstacles and awkwardness of maneuvering around and out of the gutters. It would have been a better design to reverse the normal pressure on the arms to keep them closed in their normal position rather than open. That way, the user would be aided by the close pressure on the arms in retaining the debris in their grasp during removal from the gutter.

Great Gutter Cleaning Tool
What a great idea whoever developed this tool to clean out your gutters. All you need to do is get a painters pole, screw it on and adjust the pole as needed. It takes a little practice to use the tool efficiently, but regardless it gets the job done and will keep you off a shaky ladder or even worse having to get up on your roof to clean your gutters. I feel safer knowing that I can clean out a clogged gutter without risking my life getting up on a ladder.

Does the job
I hesitated in getting this, but I'm tired of getting on the roof, so thought I'd give it a try. It works. Takes some coordination, but it will grab the debris in the gutter. My gutters have nails to attach to the eaves, which provided a challenge, but I figured out how to use it and avoid them It won't clear the downspout holes, so you need to do that separately with ladder and hose, or get on the roof. Maybe that takes a different tool? I'm happy with it.

Time consuming and hard to use
Family bought this for me saying I'm getting to old to get on roof or ladders. I tried it and it worked ok for two thirds of my gutters. Then it started getting stuck closed and was falling apart. Upon inspection I found that the monofilament line was cutting into the plastic holes it passes through causing the line to get stuck. The line looked fine but I installed new line. It made it stick worse. Cleaning my gutters used to take about 20 minutes. With this it took 3 hours to do two thirds before the tool stopped working. This tool takes a lot of energy to operate. It will wear you out. It's fragile and to China for me. I'll take my chances going on the roof...

Need stronger materials
I lost hold of the pole I attached this leaf grabber to and the head snapped off. They did take the returned item back. They just need to figure out a way to make it more durable.
