Very nice first sous vide cooker
I don't think you can beat this sous vide cooker for the price. Water circulation is excellent, heater works really well, max and min water levels are marked on the unit, touch keys work great and it can be controlled from phone or tablet via wifi with the Tuya app. It heats water really quickly and holds it to temp perfectly. I like that the clip has notches for use in various size containers/pots as well.I also purchased a container with a rack, a sleeve and notched lid, as seen all over Amazon. This cooker fit the container perfect, the lid notch was the perfect width and was a little deeper than it needed to be. So if you're wondering if this sous vide cooker will fit those lids, it definitely does.I had no issues whatsoever connecting with the Tuya Smart app. Just clip the unit onto a pot or container of water, power it on and the wifi light will start blinking (directions say to hold the power button down for 5 seconds to enter broadcast mode but mine connected without needing to do that). Install and open the app, follow the directions for adding a device and it's simple. It does require a 2.4ghz wifi network so your phone has to be connected to your 2.4 ghz network in order to connect with and control the cooker. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the slider for temp control, I think keypad input or input like they used for the time would have been much better. That slider is sensitive and it's not easy to get the exact temp you want. I tend to slide my finger to get close and then roll the tip of my finger to get the exact temp but it's still not easy. It would be nice if they upgraded the app as I've seen that complaint in a lot of reviews. Other than that, it works great.

Easy and Simple Standard Controls - WiFi is a Challenge (PUT IT IN WATER TO CONNECT)
This is a sturdy sous vide heater with a beautiful recipe book. The 'no water' alarm is a nuisance; there's no way to silence it with the unit powered on.I wasn't expecting an app to control the cooker remotely, so was somewhat pleased when I noticed the WiFi icon blinking. The pleasure turned to disappointment, though, when I performed the connection to the mobile app:1. The cooker doesn't connect to 5G networks, so I had to reset and reconfigure my router to enable the 2.4G connection (it had a different password for reasons I don't recall and I didn't remember the password).2. The unit's 'low water' alarm prevents the wireless connection.3. The manual is vague and rather generic, referring to "the device" (cooker) and "the indicator" (the WiFi icon on the 'device'). This gives a queasy/uneasy feeling when trying to follow the connection directions. I'm still insure if it connects via Bluetooth or not. I spent 2 hours connecting and testing it and have now powered it off. I have other things to do today and will have to check another day.The app is very nicely laid out. Unfortunately, it's SEVERELY lacking in functionality and user controls.a) Slider for temperature setting is touchy; it needs a DIRECT ENTRY for temperature.b) No monitor when cooking with settings from the cooker's keypad, including app cooking setting changes made from the unit's keypad.c) Searches for recipes in the app yield no results. 🫤🤔Despite all of these shortcomings (mostly with the app--which should get better over time), I'm looking forward to trying out this gentle new cooking technique. Maybe I can make perfect Japanese hard-boiled eggs every time now.Overall, this is a nice piece of kit for a culinary pioneer. The recipe book has a number of obvious typos but is extremely well designed. Perhaps they spent much of their proofreading time and budget in perfecting the equipment design. I certainly hope so.

Haven't cooked with it yet, but use it to Pasteurize mead.
I may use it to cook, but mostly bought it for pasteurizing mead. I was pretty excited to find it for $50, when others with apps were $130 and up. It was simple to download the app and get it linked. Very simple to set the temperature and time at temperature (not time of running, but timer starts when water gets to set temp). The water temp doesn't reflect the mead temp so I used another thermometer for that, and when it said 140F I adjusted the heater timer for 25 minutes. Very easy. Once mead had been at temp I shut off the heater and ran cold water into the bucket my mead jug and heater sat in (all together in my sink). Very pleased with this cooker, it's good quality at a very reasonable price.

Stopped working correctly in less than 30 days :(
Worked fine in the beginning and the pump vigorously got the water flowing but now the pump is running intermittently and the water temp is testing at 10 degrees lower than the temperature that is displayed and the temperature displayed fluctuates wildly. Not a happy camper.

Quieter than Anova
I replaced my burned out ANOVA with this one. I like it better because a) it is 50% cheaper, b) it has quieter propeller/motor, and c) I don't need as much water because the clip handle allows the unit to submerge further down into the water bath. Minor dislike is that the temperature adjustment pauses every 20 or so degrees F, so when I want to go from 70 to 120, I have to hold the adjustment button until it's 95 degrees, let go, and redo it.

Great, but died after 7 months.
Worked well but died after 7 months of daily use, running between 121 - 127 degrees for 3-5 hours.I never bothered setting up the wifi, so can't comment on that experience.

one of the best investment
No more dry chicken! I was eating a lot of beef and pork because cooking chicken is really hard to not dry out. Chicken can also be a cheaper alternative to beef. As cost of inflation keeps rising, this really helps a lot. I've been experimenting with all types of chicken meat, steak, etc... It's so easy to use with the app. Although the app is sometimes confusing and I accidently shut it off sometimes when I check it. I love the convenience to having to cook it and multitasking to do other things. It gives you a huge leeway compared to cooking with traditional oven or stove top that you can over cook your meat. Can honestly say I use this almost every day.
