A quirky gem!
Really enjoyed this little gem of a film. It won't change your life but it's warm, amusing and a little quirky. A really pleasant watch.

Fun and quirky, and very likeable.Would have given it another star if they had titled it correctly.

Nothing happens... ! Zzz...
As with some other reviews for this film, I was waiting for something substantive to occur... and at the end, I was still waiting... The only reason that I watched this film was because of Morgan Freeman - but I really wish that I hadn't bothered. It's astounding that a high-class actor like Mr. Freeman would be associated with a film like this; he absolutely made "Shawshank", for heavens sake - it's well-recognised as a classic However, I have used ironing boards which were less flat than "10 items or less"... It left me completely underwhelmed. I am absolutely under the moon. Still wondering why this was ever even made - and partially bankrolled by Morgan Freeman himself, it seems (executive producer) ?

Check Out
Not the best fit, slightly humorous. I couldn't understand what Paz was saying sometimes. Morgan Freeman great as always.

Worth every second
Worth every second; bit of a hidden gem. Don't be put off by the shouty start, there's some wonderful human observation here; brings a sparkle to a view on our every day world and a smile to the face of the viewer. Thank you!

This is NOT a film for the entertainment of the mind, BUT for the soul
Simple and great for the people who can see the value of it and life itself. Morgan as always is fantastic at what he does and it is a nice movie to get lost in. Depends on your mood, maybe

AN ABSOLUTE GEM OF A MOVIE
An absolute gem. Morgan Freeman plays an actor who hasn't worked for four years and is easing his way back with a low budget movie-though he stoutly maintains he "isn't committed yet". He is sniffing out the part, the locations, before he fully commits to the project. He hooks up with a feisty utterly charming young woman who works at the 'ten items or less' counter at a desolate super market who is on her way to a job interview-Freemans character calls it an 'audition' as he thinks of everything in filmatic terms. Nothing much in the way of action happens but the film is rich in character development and Mr Freeman and the lovely Paz Vega have a palpable chemistry that makes for a wonderful little film. Highly recommended.
