Hydor H2show Volcano Kit with Red LED and Bubbles

The good:I really like this product, it gives a great effect with the red light and lots of bubbles. Exactly as you would expect. Creates an excellent talking point and fairly easy to set up.The Setup.You have to put the light on the unit on top of the bubble unit yourself and lay the wires into the main unit. put stones to weight the unit down and then the volcano goes loosely over the main light and bubble unit. wires are long enough to easily reach the ground from the aquarium so this is a great bonus, they have been generous with the amount of wire, they also supply you with suckers that will help you keep the wire tidy in the aquarium. you then obviously then have to plug in BOTH plugs (one for light and one for bubble maker)The bad.a really bulky wire for the light and a thinner wire for the bubble maker, you have to really organise the wires to minimise the uglyness of the black wires.It would have been better if the light was usb as the light is only 5v so could be run off a usb plug where you can put many aquarium items on one plug.No switch on either the light or the bubble maker, which means that you have to go to the plug often kept behind the aquarium which could be a nuisance. The solution I have found is to have a switched multi gang plug, I took the opportunity to get a surge protected plug.Overall:excellent value for money everyone always says where did you get that from, once you get over the obvious annoyances it is a very good product. I recommend it. The star was lost for the thick wires and the lack of an on off switch.

This looks really good in my fish tank especially at night when the main lights go out.It took a little bit of fiddleing around to position and get the wireing and air tube in the right place.The light can be put on top of the air rater or on the plate by where the wires and air tube come out.My only grip would be that nothing was mentioned in the product details that the electrical plugs are of the 2 pin type,meaning that i had to go out and purchase 2 into 3 pin plug adaptors (x2).This should be mentioned so that customers can choose to buy 2 x 2 into 3 pin plugs at the same time if they so wish to.That is why i only gave 3 stars because of the inconvience of having to go out to purchace 2 plugs seperately,other wise the volcano would have scored 5 stars

Having purchased another volcano that was just too big for the tank the size of this one was just right.The bubbles produced are quite fine and the red LED lights the side of the Volcano giving it a realistic lava effect that my son lovesThe pump actual sits underneath the volcano in the tank and is quiet noisy and does caused vibrations, thus only 4 stars

No problem from the vendors..item delivered in excellent time at a good price.I saw the product in an aquatics shop and thought I must have one of those.Found product on amazon, purchased it and it duly arrived. Installedas per the instuctions....no bubbles but could tellthe aereator was working.brought unit to surface ...hey presto...plenty of bubbles.Re-sited unit on floor of my aquarium....no bubbles.On reading the instructions little note saying "make sureyou install product at correct depth.Research on Hydor(manufacturers website) says aereator only worksat 45cm depth. my tank is 60cm deep.Will now have to try and raise volcano to a working depth.This should have been made clearer on product spec.Spent hours trying to get the damn thing to work.

Love it! Quick delivery. Item easy to set up. Looks great and fish seem to love it too!! Only downside is it's a bit noisy. Item is expensive but the quality is good and it looks awesome once in the tank....well worth it.

I went into my local pet shop who sells this kit separately and would come to a combined price of 85 pounds, so for under 50 pounds this made a brilliant addition to my tank and when the lights are off the volcano does look like its erupting.

product as described plug for the light gets very hot if left on for any length of time
