Great set of hinges very well made and easy to fit and quality steel, I needed my wife to hold the window in place whiIst I fixed the first screws to the frame and that's only because I have a shoulder problem. window out cleaned and refitted in 20 minutes. I live on the beach so I always smear vazaline or grease over all the moving parts. This will give many more years of salt free use. I totally recommend this item

Received and although it took a while to align, the screw holes were not identical I eventually managed to fit and works well. This involved making new screw holes with the old self tapping screws. For £4 this is fantastic value for money, I was quoted £65 to replace by a window repairer.Note they MUST be replaced in pairs, this pack includes 2 (I make the mistake first of trying to change just one to begin with). Take the time to line up from the old window and you should be good to go.

Feel like good replacement hinges and were simple enough to swap over with the old ones. Just a little note for novice DIYers like me, a bit of thought is needed to fix them in a slightly different position than the original ones. 4 stars as would have been 5 if they came with new screw fixings but overall very pleased.

Hi, I got this to repace a broken hing.It was virtually a direct replacment.This type will not open as far as the origional one, but could be modified to do so.For me, its fine.I replaced both hinges, I figgured if one broke, the other would not be far behind.

It was a little scary to swap out the hinges on a first floor window but it went well - had to drill two holes in the lower part of the window assembly (not the frame) as the holes did not line up, but all the replacements have the same issue.

To be fair, the description does say 13mm, so this is passing on my experience. I had assumed that 13mm was the common type, so I didn't give it much thought. However, when I took the window out, I found that the window attachment was thicker than the equivalent bar on these hinges - I actually needed a 17mm stack hinge. (and I couldn't have easily seen this before extracting the window!). With a hole where my window had been, I dashed down to Screwfix and bought an equivalent hinge set which also had a set of plastic packers to give me the 17mm i needed). The spacers couldn't cost more than a couple of pence, so it was disappointing they aren't included in this product.In summary, if you are sure you need a 13mm stack height, these will be fine. If you want to cover your options, go for a set that gives you the spacers to pack it out to 17mm if you have to.
