These work nicely for emergency beacon on life vest. These can only be turned on via water immersion, or water contact. It will not turn on by pushing the on/off button. There are two posts in the center for the water contact/connection. So if you are wearing this low on your body, it can come in contact with a wet seat and turn on. Not an issue, as you can push the on off button to turn unit off. It is bright, certainly usable at night, which is why I made purchase, and I fully consider this a worthy purchase for this reason. The only way to use is via belt loop. The loop looks like it was pushed together with main unit, but I was not able to release, and why I gave a 4 star rating. I attached mine with a zip strap. It's not going anywhere and is now on the top of the jacket, so hopefully no more accidental turn on.

The day this arrived, I was testing to see how it worked (no instructions were included) and showing my wife. She asked to see it, and as soon as I passed it to her she dropped it. The drop was less than 4 feet, but the strobe developed a rattle and never worked again. I tried to open it up to see if I could fix it to no avail as it is non-serviceable. Save yourself the headaches, $20, and 2 week wait; there are better options out there.

Goes on when it rains. Can’t turn it off. Battery eater.

These came in a ziplock bag with no manufacturer packaging or instructions. No way to have trust in a product intended for a life saving device.

Although the product works, it is not a traditional strobe as alluded to in the title. It is a blinking led and not nearly as bright as a traditional strobe. May work fine for other applications but not as a lifesaving/ signaling device.
