JAG - Season 8 [DVD]

SOMEWHAT UNEVEN THIS TIME ROUND, BUT STILL MUCH TO ENJOY
After last season's horrifying climax, the start here is necessarily grim. In case all becomes too disturbing for fans, there seems to have been a determined effort to lighten things up a bit. Opinions may be divided over whether all the attempts at humour work - genuinely funny or some simply silly? Several may also feel action sequences not as convincing as before - more like melodramatic escapades in a teen adventure movie.Such reservations apart, there is still much to keep the show's addicts hooked - the 24 episodes containing more than enough excellent ones to compensate for occasional clunkers. As ever, the court cases intrigue. Who is to blame for the death during an exercise? Is the husband really responsible for the death of his drunken unstable wife? What is the truth behind a 1968 submarine disaster, subject of an intense CIA cover-up? Also under investigation are human trafficking, a missing torpedo, deaths from "friendly fire", arms smuggling. Much else besides.AJ and his Team face many challenges - not least when one of them is on trial accused of murder. In fact they are all threatened with dispersal following a devastating report submitted by an enemy on high determined to have revenge on the lot of them. They are accused as not being fit for purpose, over a hundred pages crammed with "evidence" to prove it. (It is a tribute to writers and cast that fans genuinely care what happens to them.)The creators regard the show as their salute to all who devote their lives to helping maintain peace throughout the world, Christmas Specials always specifically dedicated to them. Of particular interest is Episode 14. Set in 1945 (normal cast in other roles), it focuses on the part played by nurses aboard ships during the war. Creators felt they have not received the recognition due and aim to put that right.Although arguably not reaching the heights of some previous seasons, there is more than enough here to provide many hours of fine viewing - including a two-parter where NCSI meets JAG, sparks to fly with a formidable clash of wills.(Almost needless to say, there is a cliffhanger to whet the appetite for Season 9.)

This is the one with NCIS in it
It was nice to see the first outings of gibs and his team, ie NCIS I’ve heard the story was in the jag show, so it was great to find it. Jag The for runner is a bit dated now a days but fun to Watch to

Good Viewing
All my family have really enjoyed JAG. i do think they could have continued a lot longer than was allowed.I didn't think I would enjoy them as much as NCIS but I was wrong. Guess I will just have to start watching them all over again from the start. Good family entertainment.

The beginning of NCIS
Excellent so far. Have not seen all of it. Actually only got it for the NCIS pilot etc, and this was brilliant as usual.
