Unique brushes, lots of potential
I’ll start with the packaging, as shown in the video, they’re VERY WELL protected. They come in a sturdy (and cute) cardboard tube, with each brush individually wrapped & capped. The range of size is impressive to say the least. While the brushes have a quill design, they’re referred to as “round.” In the first photo I have two comparable brushes to show how unique the Grabies are. They’re not quite a typical round, not a big belly quill. They’re somewhere in the middle. Second photo shows the Grabie 6 round next to the Princeton Aqua Elite 6 Quill. Almost identical in size & shape. The Princeton has a more soft bristle & flows over paper with little resistance. The Grabie is definitely more stiff, offering more control & a perfect snap back to point after laying down your paints. The Princeton holds its point well but Grabie is like, ready to go. Only downside to the stiffer brush is it can sometimes skip over the tooth, especially on rough surfaces, so don’t rush & use a consistent speed to avoid any issues. If you’ve bought random watercolor brushes off amazon before then you know there’s a risk of shedding. I observed none. I’ve also tried another brand of this “quill” type (wire wrapped around the ferrule). The wire knots stuck out so far I was afraid I’d cut myself, very uncomfortable in the hand. These brushes don’t have that issue, they’re comfortable in the hand regardless of where or how you grasp it. The handles are quite light even in the largest brush, I doubt wrist fatigue will be an issue (great if you have arthritis).I’m excited to work with these brushes & see what they can do. Probably have to adjust my water & pigment control but that comes with the territory when using a new brush. I’m super impressed with the smaller sizes…a quill like the da Vinci Petit Gris is amazing but expensive. I spent more money on size 0 & 2 da Vinci quills than on this set of 9 good quality brushes. Would HIGHLY recommend, especially for beginner/intermediate, worth every cent. After I use these for a while I will amend my review if needed.

Love these brushes
They hold their shape after much use. They hold a lot of water. The fine tips are great for detailed work. Good for watercolor and gouache acrylic. Great value. Quality brushes.

Very good brushes!
These brushes hold a lot of water. They are great for large watercolor washes, while at the same time holding their shape and forming a good, fine point. After several weeks of use, they have yet to lose any noticeable hairs. I will be ordering a 2nd set just to have for future use. Great set, great price!

VERY HAPPY!
I've been using these daily for more than a month and am so happy with them. I'm a watercolorist and have looked for an inexpensive set of brushes for years but most aren't worth the package they come in. These have not shed a single hair, they keep their shape and even a really sharp point (even the largest one), hold a lot of water/paint, feel good in my hand and I love the different sizes. They're well made too. They don't have a metal ferrule but are wrapped which I think helps keep them from shedding. They're also easy to clean. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Pleasantly surprised!
I bought these as backup or casual use brushes that might hold a lot of water. (Mop set) They are very nice! They do hold a lot of water, the tip keeps a point (so far), they feel nice in the hand. They are birch WOOD, not plastic as some reviewers say. I mainly paint in watercolor. However, I've been using these for acrylic on wood 😱 and they're great even on rough-ish surfaces. One thing about ALL wrapped brushes is that paint can get up in there, esp acrylic. So be careful with that if you care. Even acrylic washes out easily (if you don't let it dry). I like these so much that I want the other two sets (mini and round) AND another set of mops. My Best brushes are Black Velvet, second best Sapphire, third Princeton. I use these the most because I am always "saving" the Velvets. The Sapphires were not worth the $ imo. These complement the Princetons which have rather thin heads. Obviously happy with this purchase. If they don't hold up over time I'll still get a lot of use out of them.

Nice brush set
I've been doing watercolor for a few months now and have watched and read several discussions about brushes. I needed better brushes for applying washes than what I had so when I found these I thought I'd try them. So far I have enjoyed working with them. Nice assortment of sizes, though I've been using only four thus far, good construction (haven't seen any loose hairs so far or poor ferrules), very good water holding capacity and nice, responsive tips. A very early beginner might have issues with the water holding ability, but someone further down the road shouldn't have any issues. Are there "better" brushes out there? Probably, but for my usage right now, spot on!
