Living in Happiness
I read Matt Peters' "West Wales Romance" series. "Pitch Prince" is the first book in his Rucking Rugby Men series. The two main characters are so sweet. Rhys Prince is smaller in build than most of his teammates, but he makes up for it with speed and agility. Rhys came out as gay and has done fairly well at avoiding intense homophobia on and off the field. He's a young player, just coming into his prime.Callum Anderson is known as the gentleman of rugby. His calm demeanor and athletic ability have launched him into being team captain. He is in the sunset of his career. Callum has been married for over a decade to Sarah. He has two children he absolutely loves, Olivia and Logan. As we join him in this story, he announced to his wife that he is gay and has been living in the extra bedroom for a year. His younger 11-year-old son Logan likes musicals and bright clothes which makes his mother-in-law Elizabeth angry that he's headed for a gay lifestyle. She has displayed open hostility to her son-in-law since before his marriage which is now magnified as she feels he is a bad influence on his own son. She tries to toughen Logan up with disastrous results.Callum falls in love with Rhys. He is quite conflicted about announcing this sexuality to the world. He is most concerned how this will reflect on his now ex-wife and children. I like the issue Peters raises about how we need to be concerned about our family that we love and our careers. Ultimately, we must equally be concerned to be true to ourselves in order to live in happiness. The epilogue seemed a little rushed for me, but this is a strong outing. Enjoy!

Two men. One pitch
The story starts with the focus on Rhys, a prodigy rugby player for Wales who happens to be gay and Callum, the "Gentleman of Rugby," who is struggling with his terms about his sexuality. Each chapter goes back and forth between the two men about matches, after hours behavior in public, and finding out how well they fit together. The relationship of Rhys and Callum progress from secret longing to a nice and slow burning exploration of each other's bodies and hearts.I recommend this book for people who are looking for a nice m/m sports romance.

it was good
I would have given it 5 but there were a number of errors which at times I could not tell if they were because of the differences in language or they were just proof reading errors that were missed. A few … no big deal, but there were more than a few. Otherwise, an enjoyable read.

Cute Sports Romance
This was a fun book with a sweet story about rugby players. One MC struggles with his bi-awakening but over all low-angst. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Kicking screaming throwing up
This book is like a punch to the gut in the best way possible. Its got be kicking my feet giggling and blushing. I went into this pretty much blind and now im extremely haply that i did. If you dont know too much about rugby, its alright, the author makes it very understandable for people that dont know the sport. Anyways loved the book and im excited to read the second book in the series!!

Angsty
This book was more angsty that I expected it to be. It’s the right amount of will-he or won’t-he that worked really well. I really enjoyed this story.

2 stars
This is a classic setup with likable characters, but the execution needed work. The story skimmed over a long period of time, which felt awkward. There wasn’t enough on page relationship development to make the reader feel it. It wasn’t clear where the attraction was beyond proximity, and they didn’t do much together on page that established an emotional connection. It felt very paint by numbers, and the ending was every bit as skimmy and lacking in depth as the rest, with a couple very brief conversations between the MCs. Disappointing.

Really enjoyed it
I really liked this story, it was my first book by this author, and even though it could have been amazing with a proofreader working on it, I chose to ignore the little typos and just enjoy the story.

Outstanding
Outstanding read loved Rhys and Callum finding each other whilst struggling with Callum being so deeply in the closet. That and being gay on the world of professional rugby union. So glad they got their happy every after ending.

Sweet
Sweet age gap, closeted/out of the closet sports romance. Quick, easy read although heed the content warnings at the start of the book.Dual POV (not always alternating), medium heat.

Great read, refreshing and enjoyable
Knowing very little about rugby this was informative about the sport. Of course that’s not the only reason to read it!Fed up with female authors I was genuinely pleased to read a gay story by a man for a change. Enjoyed the plot and the characters.Editing is a bit poor, noted numerous mistakes both typos and confusions, but nothing enough to irritate.

My first Matt Peters. Not the last.
I would not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone. Even if you do not understand rugby it is a great love story. I will follow this author from now on. Enjoy his books!
