This fan is pretty awesome for laptop gamers or anyone using a laptop for a desktop replacement. I was really surprised how well it worked with almost a 15 degree drop in temps. I only used this on my CPU side as it generates the most heat, but as you can see in the pictures you could have it on the GPU or both if you purchase 2.Pros:- Powered from laptop so minimum wires- Not any louder than my Sager fans (Has auto mode and manual mode to adjust fan speed/noise)- Small- Huge drop in temps for very little effort (15~ degrees Celsius)- Come with adapters for every laptop vent size (Blue thing in my picture)Cons:- Does not physically attach to the laptop so if you are moving around a lot you'll need to hold it- While its not louder than my Sager fans, it's still loud

Has two modes of operation. Auto and Manual. In manual, there are 5 speed settings. Some reviewers have complained about noise but I don't find it to be out of the realm of reasonable expectation. The only way to moves a lot of air quietly is to have a huge fan turning slowly and that would be unacceptable for a laptop and expensive. The silicon shrouds are soft and conform to the vent opening making a good seal.As another reviewer mentioned, this fan is not applicable for use on you lap but, I find it is. It comes with a flat plate that attaches to the fan and extends under the laptop so, if I position it on my left leg and set the laptop on top of the plate, it stays put. June 6th 2018 I added a photo of me using it on my lap.I ran a temp test today. I let my laptop get up to 36 C, (96.8 F)attached the fan and after about 10 minutes it got down to 27 C.(80.6) The heat at 36C was noticeable on my leg but not at all at 27C.. I ran the test on speed 5 which is the fastest.Update July 23, 2018 Fan started making noise intermittently so, I opened the enclosure and found the fan was not properly fastened to the enclosure base. In the photo you can clearly see in the lower left corner a tab on the fan sitting on a post that is part of the enclosure with a hole in the end. There is supposed to have a rubber washer and a screw to attach the two together. Was not assembled completely. I changed my original 5 star review to 2 to grab your attention. I'm still very pleased with the fan and in the back of my mind, it's still a five star purchase however, if you are the sort of person that demands perfection and has zero mechanical skills like how to use a screw driver and has no curiosity as to what causes this and that, don't buy it! With the slightest knowledge of how things work, this is a great way to protect your investment. Otherwise, keep buying new laptops!

Cools well and the noise is fine even in the high setting. The temperature reported by windows 10 went from 82 C to 51 C. I'm very pleased. Update: the cooler still works great. I should have mentioned that My pavilion dv7 is raised up by the battery so it doesn't fit normally. I placed one of the extra rubber adapters under the cooler and it works fine. I should also mention that I wear hearing aids so my idea of quiet may not match yours.

My laptop internal fan died and replacing it was going to be quite expensive; more importantly, I would have had to ship my computer away for service and I needed it for work. I ordered one of the cooling pads for laptops and found that to be bulky and annoying. Then, I ordered this. My computer now runs faster than it did before my fan died!The fan is quiet, it has no noticeable drain on the battery when in use (and I use it constantly, as opposed to on "auto" mode since my internal fan is completely dead), and it is small and portable. I have used it in extremely hot conditions (over 104 Degree days in Spain and 98 degree unairconditioned days in Liberia, West Africa) without my laptop overheating. At 20$, even if this thing does die (and it does not seem to be performing any different that it did brand new after several months of daily use), I'd be willing to buy one per year to keep my laptop going!The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that I wish there was a way to mount it on your laptop. If you pick up your laptop, it does not stay attached. This is still not a huge issue, but, room for improvement.

Easy to use and lowered my hot laptop by a good margin. Mine has dual video cards and runs very warm. While gaming it sometimes throttles back the performance. This little cooler alleviated that problem. However it has a high pitched whine that is rather irritating. So does what it claims at the cost of more noise.

No, this isn't some sort of automated fake review or sponsored review. I actually got the recommendation from a video on YouTube and really liked how it takes both USB and socket power. To lessen the draw on my laptop I have it plugged into a wall outlet - running games like Civ or Fallout no longer makes my laptop breath fire. Using Core Temp I was able to measure how much of a temperature change I would get. I was overheating and running at 73C, with the fan on high before getting this, I'm only at around 50C and peak at 53C. I've been wary about these kinds of devices being totally effective, and I was proven wrong. Excellent product. My only gripe was that when I took it out of the box, the fan sounded like it was rattling around a little but it hasn't affected performance. Easy to use, effective, and very useful. Normal operating temps around 30C now compared to 45C.I would heavily suggest using the included wall adapter to power the fan - no need to suck more power from your computer and possibly unintentionally using more of it. It works wonders! After a few minutes at max speed, it cools my laptop by 10 degrees Celsius. The lower fan speeds (1 and 2) emit an annoying high pitch noise but once you set it at 3 or above, it sounds just like any other household fan. I recommend it!

I run it wedged between a laptop and a docking station so it is an awkward fit. The buttons are hard to use switching between manual and auto and fan speed - they are not that sensitive so it requires two hands to press.

This just stopped working after a week for no reason. I would look at something more reliable.
