FIshing line jammed, and no way to fix it.
I really liked casting the line with this rod/reel combo; it's very easy to do, and the pole is really light to handle, and worked great for a few days of lake fishing (we didn't catch anything, though). On the 3rd day, the line completely jammed in the reel, and we could not find any way to fix it, since the line is encased inside a covering. We tried taking the covering off and that was just a disaster. I returned the item for a refund, and won't buy this type of reel again.

Broke
Got this pole for my son for his birthday. He used it twice and it broke really disappointed. And the window to return it has clothes so I guess we’re out of money and I’ll have to get them a new fishing rod.

ugly stick is a great brand
bought my first ugly stick 46 years ago. This is not a "beginners" rod. I purchased this for crappie fishing. you can use it for a youth, but i am far from a youth. Ultra light rods are great for for certain fish and this rod is great for crappie, blue gill, and bass.

Great for beginners
I have had many rods over $100 value, but I got tired of rods breaking so I figured to try a cheaper all-in-one rod and surprise, surprise, this is a high-quality rod and feels as great as the pricier ones if you are an average fisherman. Still going strong after 6 months.
