After one year of daily use, this is a good boot.
I have spent many years buying Red Wing King Toe boots, they are comfortable but only last about a year before the toe starts wearing through to the cap. Because of policy changes with the company I could no longer order that boot on-line, so I started searching for a replacement. I was leery of this Irish Setter boot from the start, I don't care for the side zipper, but thought I would give it a try. After a year of punishing use, constantly crawling, climbing and even walking on hot surfaces, I am impressed with the comfort and durability of the boot. I believe it may outlast any other work boot I have bought in the past. It is water proof and gives good grip even in the mud. The toe is roomier than it looks, not as much as the king toe, but enough to make it comfortable to wear all day without getting sore toes. I would recommend this boot to anyone who works a trade and needs good protection for their feet.

Second pair, destroyed the first, comfortably
I love these boots. They don't set the metal detector off when I fly, they're light and I'm lazy so the zipper side is AWESOME. I haven't tied my boots in a year. That being said, they're pretty soft and I broke the zipper once, had it repaired , and I've completely destroyed my last pair with diesel and a couple hundred miles of walking. Soles are completely torn up, leather is pretty soft and I've torn a couple holes in em. Gladly bought a replacement pair.

Exactly what I needed, and exactly how I wanted it.
**Update** I’ve hade these awhile now and they’ve held up very well. Still comfortable, and have withstood working in a Manufacturing Facility, walking about 6-7 miles a day in total. One warning would be to avoid sharp objects as they can slice the leather (which is obvious, but still happened for me). Even with the slice, the boots are still rugged and keeping dry.I haven’t worn these to work yet, but they look and feel high quality. They smell nice, like well treated leather, and the inside of the box has instructions on how to care for the waterproof leather. They feel sturdy, comfortable, and solid. The toe feels like a larger than normal safety toe, which is a good thing, and the Electic Hazard and Waterproof features are nice. I’ll try to update down the line on the fit, the feel, and the finish.

Good boots
I bought them before good boots. Tying my boots every morning got old much easier

Water proof... Yeah right. Working with wet feet.
Well the comfort of these boots for working is great. But I work at a concrete plant. And the reason I bought them was to keep my feet dry and also for the safety toe. Well guess what even after I treated them with water proofing oil they still let your feet get wet. I will not buy another pair of these assuming that red wing or Irish settler same company.... Boots will keep your feet dry while working in a wet, damp, environment because they do not keep your feet dry and they sure the hell ain't water proof. Maybe water resistant but by all means not water proof.

Work boots
I love these zip up style work boots. Very convenient. The only problem is the sole layers separate before the shoe is even close to wearing out. They last me about 2 years and I’m not on my feet all day

Crappy work boot
Use these daily for electrical maintenance work in South Florida . Not hot or heavy to work in. I normally wear these boots in excess of 12 hours daily. I have had the and they are comfortable. My feet are not tired at end of day. Seems to be a good quality. Wish they had been made in the USA.12 month update. Soles are coming apart. Stick with Red Wings. These are Chinese crappie expensive boots. They do not hold up to US Construction environment.

So Far So Good
I’ve only had them a month. Very well made, waterproof so far and comfortable. I drive a concrete redimix truck. So they are subjected to some nasty materials. We’ll see how they do. I put “Shoe Grease on them before wearing. Which I hope will give them some more protection.
