It's good that it can be adjusted to let the smaller birds feed safety and stop the bigger birds (pigeons, magpies) from eating it all.

This is a good practical feeder for small birds.I bought it in the hopes of attracting our local Robin, unfortunately it didn't keep the starling mob out.

Once built the item is good. However all the threads are very poorly finished! Getting them to grip was very difficult let alone not cross threading them. If you have arthritis in your hands and haven’t got a decent tool kit you will have trouble putting this together!

Ordered 2. Picture shows one has thread missing on hook. Plastic lid doesn't sit square. Centre steel rod had to be forced into place which runs the risk of cracking the lid. I fudged it together rather than send it back as I'm still waiting for Amazon to refund 2 other items.

I had reservations about this bird feeder mostly whether the birds would be able to access the food. The idea was to prevent larger birds as we have other feeders for them but the smaller birds seemed to get bullied away by the larger varieties. I need not have worried, this plastic feeder is fabulous and the smaller birds have no trouble feeding. By altering the gap between the top cover and bottom feed tray you can select what size of bird you wish to attract. The squirrels seem totally uninterested in attacking this feeder maybe because they have never seen a design such as this. Possibly the smooth domed plastic top puts them off too.

1 st one received plastic lid broken , asked for refund they sent me another it was fine , suggested it had bubble wrap . Ok for the money .

Day two and two squirrels sat in the basket eating!!

Took some time to insert metal rod, hesitant to use too much force as plastic surrounding insertion hole could have broken. Inserted from bottom of basket in the end.
