Feeding holes too large
I admit the birds like this feeder because it's always full of them. But the feeder holes are way too large so a good deal of the seeds end up on the ground. The other issue is that when weight is applied to the perches and the unit slides down, it only covers half of each feed hole, making it still accessible to squirrels. The one nice feature I do like though is the feeder detaches from the cover to make it easy to take down/put up.

Finally a bird feeder just for birds
A good size cellinder to hold feed, and the perch for the birds keep the squirrels from getting to the bird seed. We have seen the squirrels try to get to the seed but give up and they now stop trying. Very happy with this bird feeder!

We shall see.. Don't go by the reviews!
I like the idea, what I don't like are most of the reviews on here are for the hummingbird feeder!!! So maybe take a chance. Do NOT go by the reviews. I will update after a month.

Directions vague look, for the screws
The media could not be loaded. Just put up so well see how it works with birds. But dont throw away the box. There are teeny tiny screws you need to connect the bottom i thought they would just snap on. the directions are a small picture on a postit note size piece of paper and screws at the bottom. I dug the box out of the trash as i was going to return as it wouldnt stay together thats when i saw the paper and dug for the screws. But good value so far.

Finally a feeder the squirrels don't empty out
Seems sturdy and well made. Squirrels not having any luck and have now left it alone after a few failed attempts to eat from it. The chickadees, nuthatches and gross beaks have been using it....the blue jays have not.

much better
First let me say that, after feeding hummingbirds for several years, it leaves you in quite a dilemma. You can buy the glass tops with the metal bottoms which is the best, but then the metal contend to get hot in the sunlight. And you can waste a lot of hummingbird sugar water that they don't end up eating. The plastic ones are always the cheapest. But, I find this to be a very good plastic feeder. It has the most amount of space that I have ever found and this type of feeder. All feeders of this type are made of plastic and they have a bottom and a top that is made of plastic so I'm not sure about the only other comment that was left plastic is of course cheap. No matter what type you use.I ended up putting a screw in because there are three screw holes and almost appears to be on the inside of the circle where you put the hook at.I simply took a sheet metal screw and screw it into that to hold the top down so no other animals can get in and it works very nicely. It's very secure. I think it's very solid once you screw that bottom down. I think the only perfect feeders in the world will be wooden feeders yet I have not seen too many wooden hummingbird feeders. They don't gets hot. Plastic is cheap. Glass breaks. One thing I do like about these a lot is that it keeps the bees out. It doesn't leak. It doesn't leak. Putting the sheet metal screw and probably helps great deal. But it doesn't leak which is the good thing, especially when you use a sheet metal screw. And it won't leak either if you leave about a half an inch between The sugar water and the top I also ended up hooking mine on a shepherd's hook and then tying it on so that it doesn't sway from side to side. The only thing that would ever be best of all, is if some would finally develop a plastic top that would screw on to a plastic bottom, that was built just like this feeder. That way if you screw the top onto the bottom there's no way you would leak. That would be leak proof. But no one has ever designed one like that yet.

The birds like it very much.

Works great, however . . .
The feeder arrived without the 6 screws required to attach the landing area to the main part.
