Having received my Otto Adapter in a timely manner, I had difficulty pairing the unit with my iPhone (Pro Max 13). After several attempts, I contacted customer support and received an email with steps to help me connect. I followed the steps as outlined in the email and I still had difficulty connecting. Frustrated, but not giving up because of all the good reviews, I took the adapter to my Lexus dealer (I have a 2021 RX450H) and their tech specialist finally got it to work. Now, 3 weeks later, I am a happy camper because the adapter does exactly what it was intended to do. Finally, wireless and I'm loving it.

Product connects quickly, but I’ve had multiple issues with it not continuing to connect automatically, the light turning red instead of blue and having to factory reset the unit. Additionally, Siri does not ever complete sentences in my car using either maps or responding to requests. There seems to be something wrong with the timing of the handoff from voice to music. My carlinkit unit has been working fine in relation to actual functionality, although is a bit slow to connect, so I was looking for something else that would be as reliable but faster—this isn’t it.Reaching out to support for help has resulted in zero replies from the company.Update: Although it took a few days, the company responded and advised to update the firmware. Unfortunately, I was already on the latest version, so the issues are not resolved. I have tried to reach out again three times for any next steps in troubleshooting or warranty replacement, however the company has entirely stopped replying.

This wireless CarPlay adapter connects to vehicle and phone easily and quickly most of the time. On occasion you may have to unplug the adapter and plug it back in. Once connected, controls and sounds all work well including phone calls which I have experienced poor sound quality with using the non pro version. All in all I would but the pro again for what I need it’s great.

Have been using the USB connection for my old CarPlay unit ever since I had the head unit installed in my car. (In retrospect, it would have been easier to buy a head unit with wireless CarPlay built in right off the bat, but that ship has sailed). While using wired CarPlay was easy enough and mostly worked without issues, I was tired of being tethered to a cable to play music (especially if the cable is going bad and the connection is inconsistent, or passing the “aux” to a passenger to use with their phone).The product was incredibly easy to install. Literally just connect it to the USB input to the car’s head unit, and setup is as simple as pairing to Bluetooth on your phone once. After these initial steps, the AirPlay connection adapter will pair with my phone seamlessly within 5 seconds of starting my car.Package also comes with some 3M adhesive pads to tuck the adapter out of sight.Giving this product 5 stars for ease of use, easy setup, and consistency. Highly recommended for anyone with a CarPlay compatible head unit that doesn’t support wireless connection! Game changer.

Love this product and desperately wanted to give it 5 stars... but crashes when using backup/lane assist cameras make it tough to use this over wired carplay.The product was easy to install on my honda CR-V. I connected the unit to the Cars USB port, paired it to my iphone and after about a minute it all connected. After the initial connection, the unit connected very quickly when turning the car on, ten seconds or so. All car play functions work as well as they did over the hard wired USB cable i used prior. there is a two second delay when skipping songs, but i also experienced this when i was using wired car play.PROS: Reliable connections, good speed/performance, consistent reconnectionsThe device exceeded my expectations from a reliability and performance standpoint. I had feared it would be a hassle to re-pair or reconnect when turned the car on or off but that wasnt the case, the unit always reconnected without issue. there is also a button to disconnect the current connected phone so a spouse or another iphone user can connect back and forth.CONS: device display goes black/crashes after using backup or lane assist camerasAnytime i put the car in reverse which triggers the backup camera [which works fine] once i go back in park or drive car play never comes back up. its just a black screen and i need to unplug/replug the usb or restart the car to get it to work again. The same is true for the lane assist side camera when i put the right directional on.This is a major annoyance. luckily there is an option to turn off lane assist so i dont have it crash anytime i change lanes or make a right turn but the backup camera always makes it crashI have reached out to support, hopefully the respond and can issue a bugfix.

i was a little worried about this, i'd heard the wireless adapters weren't that great but so far this thing has been really nice! a couple disconnects here and there but for the most part it just works. boot up time is around the same amount of time as my car's regular infotainment unit so its pretty quick to get up and running. not too shabby!

I got this based on reviews to replace a unit that lasted only a year. I’ve been using this about 2 months and so fas it’s working well. Starts up much quicker than my previous unit and does everything expected. I’ve had my head unit freeze up twice, but can’t say if it was the adapter or my car unit. But a head unit reset solved the issue.

When I first purchased this Ottocast the item didn’t work and was replaced with another Ottocast that immediately connected to the car and my phone. I was thrilled! I have had it for less than a month now and it never stays connected. Blocks the media screen randomly while I am listening to the radio, and it just in general a pain to get working correctly. It also states that it comes with 90 days of support by Amazon but when you look into trying to troubleshoot the issues yourself in Amazon it states something about a GOS system. I would not recommend this product.
