Very good for creating sequences with basic yoga asanas
As Rodney Yee states in his introduction, he has chosen "a subset of the poses that make up yoga," in putting together this deck. As such, it contains many familiar basic yoga poses that seem directed at a beginning practitioner or for a more experienced yogi who would like to do a simple, less strenuous practice. My four star rating represents my expectation that this deck would provide a little more variety in poses, maybe heading into the intermediate level. Perhaps he'll do that in another deck, however. The deck is very nicely produced with excellent b/w photos along with brief but clear explanations and a suggested amount of time to hold each pose. On the reverse side of each card is an inspirational quote and a thought related to the pose. The asanas can be performed in quite a variety of self selected sequences, or you can arrange cards/asanas according to four suggested practices (listed on sequence cards). BTW, if you don't count the explanation cards or namaste card as sukhasana, there there are really only 46 asanas in the deck. Since there is only one card per pose, you will need to perform right/left asanas (i.e. lunge, warrior poses, triangle, etc.) on both sides of course. Here are the categories and number of cards in the deck as listed on the introduction card:1 Introduction & contents card2-7 Preparatory poses8-20 Standing poses21-25 Twists26-31 Backbends32-36 Seated Poses37-42 Forward Bends43-47 Restorative Poses48-49 Suggested Sequence cards (grounding, falling, breath & resistance)50 Namaste cardOverall, I think the deck is a nice way to do a simple home practice or as a break from DVD practices (which can become quite repetitive). You can follow the suggested sequences or choose one or more poses from each category for more creative variety, making for a longer or shorter yoga session depending on your needs. Line them up in front of your mat, turn on some music and enjoy!

Lovely "Cheat Sheet" for Visual Learners
Rodney Yee has been a part of my yoga life for years. I've had a book, DVD, YouTube visits. But the 50-card pack has been the easiest and most effective for me. Each card has both the western name and yoga term which is helpful for me to learn. Each includes the pose photo, words to tell the how-to of the pose, which he calls the FEEL, and the time to go hold the pose. The reverse side of the card presents a more lyrical interpretation along with a simple quote that I use as the intention for each pose. The sturdy cards make it easy to manipulate and go in order with some, or choose 5, or 8, or 10 cards and lay them out along the floor to do a customized series of asanas. If you're a visual learner, this is an excellent tool to practice yoga. It makes a great travel pack too.

Love these cards
My daughter and I do yoga together almost every day. We pick one card and either work on a pose or meditation. Really well done!

My Favorite Yogi In a Box
I am using the cards in conjunction with the book while I learn more of Rodney Yee's unique explanations of the poses. I am thrilled to have both of these items at such a reduced cost. They add a great deal of richness to my life. As I become more familiar with his teachings, I'll be able to use the cards with more expertise in impromptu sessions. As I meditate on Yee's teachings, my healing during yoga sessions is increased. There is a "presence" that I feel, as if I am in his studio and he is imparting his knowledge of anatomy to me.

This book has been a nice tool as a yoga teacher
I love this deck. The descriptive saying were a nice tool to incorporate into my language during my classes to help my student feel a pose in a different way. Rodney's form is beautiful and inspirational. This deck was useful at the beginning in outlining my class, and memorizing the sanskrit names. I still like to thumb through to deck before class to remind me of a pose that I haven't taught in a while. I've now graduated to doing his videos to work on my own practice.

These are very helpful for planning out sequences as a new teacher. Some of the Sanskrit was different than what I learned in my yoga teacher training, which is why I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars. Overall, my expectations and needs were met.

Nice multi-purpose set
Bought this as a present for an aspiring yogini (teacher) and it is just what she wanted. The cards contain the asana (pose) and basic instruction. I think the back side of the card(s) have an affirmation (or other info). I believe she uses these to create "sequences" for class work. All I know for sure is she is very happy with this.

a good idea
It is a good idea to print a small deck of cards each representing a particular yoga pose, along with a description of the asana itself, so that you can compose your own sequences. The photos, essential and inspiring, are worth seeing just for themselves.

I picked this deck but I have to say I am very disappointed in them
I have recently started attending yoga classes. I reviewed a number of the cards available on Amazon because I wanted a set to guide home practice and to take travelling. Based on the reviews, I picked this deck but I have to say I am very disappointed in them. Yes, they are lovely, maybe even inspiring cards, but I find they are lacking in basic information. They don't give any direction in terms of breath as you move into the poses for one thing. Maybe for someone with more experience, they would be fine, but not for me.

A Little Disappointing
The cards are graphically well drawn and illustrated, but for anyone with some yoga experience the selection of postures is rather basic. I was hoping for something a little more inspirational.
