full disclosure: i am 70 years old and probably the oldest person to walk into the lego store. i am obsessed.this purchase was a gamble because most lego-like kits are pretty substandard.the parts fit together nicely, the build is time consuming (for me) and a challenge.the most challenging aspect :you are not really sure where the build is going.....you cant really visualize what the particular end product is going to be, unlike a building or a car. i finished the head and even with the last piece.....then....voila. there it is....the creepy head. important to carefully follow the placement because you cant really fudge it.very enjoyable and helps me with concentration.

This took about 7-8 hours to build with minimal breaks. Easy to follow directions. Almost a metallic hue to the pieces which added an amazing effect to the finished build. Definitely going to look for more sets from this company right now.😁

This is one of the best "Lego Compatible" sets I have ever built, and I think it is the absolute best "compatible" set for providing a high quality first class build experience across the board (packaging, manual, brick quality, and design quality). The build took me about five and a half hours, and it turned out great.What I liked:- The instruction booklet is fantastic. You can tell someone put a significant amount of work into it. It doesn't have much in the way of "Astro Boy lore" as you might find in a Lego manual, but it is really top notch.- This set has high quality pieces that snap together well and have plenty of grip strength.- The metallic finished gold and silver bricks are very high quality. I would say they are as nice as Lego brand, and I've never said that about any brick in a compatible set before.- All the pieces are printed. No stickers. Even the block separation tool has a printed logo. I've never seen anyone else (including Lego) have a color printed separation tool.- The build consists of multiple stages using pre-sorted numbered bags, and is very well organized- It is a solid model, well designed, and sturdy. It stands up both on and off the stand, and can be played with, although it is not fully articulated.- The model makes sense as Astro Boy was a robot. Some of the half robot models make no sense to me (robot teddy bear, astronaut, etc.).What I didn't like:- It is not a big deal, but the flat cover pieces were a little more rubbed and scratched than I would expect to find in a high class set like this. These pieces were not as nice as those found in a typical Lego brand set.- The price. Many compatible brands come in below 5 cents per piece. Lego runs about 9 cents. This set, being a premium compatible, would be a good deal at 6 to 7 cents I think. This translates to about $75 to $88.I'm rating it 5 stars because it is really a top notch set. My only concern is the price. At $90, it is getting into Lego's pricing range, and although this brand can stand up to any of the compatibles, I don't think they can quite go toe to toe with Lego yet. If It were about $75 instead of $90, it would be a great value.In summary, if there is an Astro Boy fan in your home, this set will not disappoint.

Opened every bag thinking maybe they were mixed up. Nope. There's a lot of missing pieces.

I must say, for this being a non-authentic Lego experience, it was 10/10. Some of the bricks took some force to snap in place, I may have some callous on my thumbs, but overall I’m super happy with my new Astro Boy! Check out the detail on this model in my photos!The instructions are impeccable, my only complaint is that some of the colored pieces like blue for example, takes a keen eye to separate it from black. I think if they used lighter colors in their illustrations, it would have been easier to determine what’s what.Now I do have one other complaint but I’m still giving this 5 stars because I had such a good, rewarding experience. If you look at my last photo, those silver tubes were not included in my kit. They’re just missing. I do kind of wish I had them because they finish the look of Astro Boy on his stand, but if you never knew they were supposed to be there you’d have no idea they were missing. Other than these small items this was an exceptional kit and it’s worth every penny. TAKE A LOOK AT THOSE PHOTOS!

I absolutely love this build kit. It was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. It has quite a few pieces so be aware of this may take you quite a bit of time to build. Everything snapped together beautifully. I did not have any issues with the instructions, but I'm very familiar with how to build these models.

This is one of the coolest "Lego style" set I have built so far. The quality of the set is top notch. The design is very well done. The instruction booklet is very well made and give good and clear instruction. The build is separated into different stages, so you don't need to finish in one go.This is a really good display piece for anyone who loves Astro Boy or Japanese Anime.

One of the best builds ive had in a while. Great attention to detail from the instructions to the actual model themselves. Such a great model. They went way above and beyond. I loved the build amd displaying this astro boy. It makes any collection that much cooler bringing such a nostalgic character back in such a high quality build. 10/10 would recommend for any lego lover
