great value
I had this guitar for almost a month now and I have to say it is very good.I've been playing guitar for more than 15 years now and played loads of different guitars, this one is definitely quality for the price you pay.The fret board is very sleek and comfortable, action between strings and frets is perfect and notes intonation is perfect throughout. It is equally easy to play the high frets as well as the low frets. The sound is very smooth although you can pull a nice bluesy sound too.It is not very loud, but that is very common for a guitar of this shape. The only things I don't particularly like are the string mechanics... they feel somehow cheap compared to the general quality of this instrument. I had to tight some loose screws to get them to work correctly and guitar the first two weeks kept loosing tune very often.. I would tune it, leave it untouched for a few hours and find that the tuning had shifted down one semitone by itself.. After a while that went away though and now I can play for hours without it loosing tune or leave it alone for days and find it tuned! So all in all I love it, I don't know if I would have payed the full price, but that is mainly because I haven't bought a guitar in ages and I don't know what quality to expect for that price (very high I presume for a guitar with no electronics), but with the discounted price it is definitely a guitar to buy right away without even thinking it!!

Stunningly good looking.
This is a stunningly good looking guitar. The combination of piebald ash and zebra wood used in its construction is a unique and elegant combination. More importantly, it plays very well. A nice bright sound with good sustain. I particularly like the built in tuner facility which is proving to be very accurate. I have yet to try it through my Roland amp set up but I do not expect to be disappointed. I find the action a bit on the high side but this can easily be remedied. Last, but far from least, the delivery and back up service provided by the gentlemen at Lindo is excellent. Given the bargain price, what's not to like?!!

Not bad, not awesome.
I bought this item on an Amazon Lightning deal for £185. At the time the Amazon price for the guitar was around £260 and the list price on Lindo's site was £299. Both have since dropped (to £199 and £259 respectively). The guitar looks pretty nice. The piebald finish is attractive if it is to your taste (as it was to mine), the rest of the body and bindings are also nice, with no shoddy edges visible as is often the case with cheaper guitars manufactured in the far east (as this one indeed is).It ships with D'Addario EXPs, though the strings on the one I was shipped did not look new and had what looked like dirt or corrosion in some places - pretty disappointing. The fretboard was OK, with no major nicks or dents, though there were one or two blemishes in the finish, nothing to write home about. The frets were pretty standard fare, however there were quite a few sharp edges which could get a bit uncomfortable - easily overcome with a little light filing. The machine heads look nice, but didn't have a particularly smooth action - not even as nice as some cheap tuners I bought from China for less than a tenner for another guitar.Examining the nut and saddle, which Lindo's spec sheet claim are bone, it seems they are in fact very cheap and slightly yellowing plastic, which is a bit dodgy. The saddle was very loose in the bridge and on close inspection already had some quite deep nicks. A replacement saddle is probably advisable (you can get a decent bone one these days for just a few quid).Tuning up, I found the integrated tuner to be a bit disappointing. Although it has a small LCD screen with a "needle" indicating high/low (as well as two LEDs), it had a frustrating tendency to "snap" and "stick" to the in tune position. The cheap machine heads also showed their problems here. This also gave me the first indication of a more serious problem in that it was very difficult to get the tuner to respond on the fourth string (even when picked quite hard - the only way I could get a response was with a very heavy thumb, which is inimical to tuning). As far as the action goes, as is common with cheaper guitars shipped from the far east with no in-country setup, it was very high. While not unplayable, it was not pleasant. As the saddle could do with an upgrade anyway, the action could be sorted out at that time, but the factory saddle needed a good few millimetres taken off of it to make the guitar nice to play. I had a spare saddle to hand, already sanded down, and slipped it in under slackened strings. With this replacement bridge, the action was much better (though I'd still have needed to sand a millimetre or so off and it was VERY loose in the bridge). The tone of the guitar is fine. I wouldn't say it was amazing, but it was as good as I've heard from other guitars costing £300 or so (which was, if you remember, its original price on the Lindo website). Certainly for £180, the tone was more than acceptable - just about enough low-end to prevent it sounding gutless and tinny and a decently bright high-end.When I plugged in to hear the amplified sound, the problem with the fourth string became really apparent. There was virtually no output from the pickup at all for the fourth string. Otherwise, the amplified tone was fairly ordinary. I suspect the pickup is a pretty cheap and nasty one - again, pretty easy to replace, but a bit disappointing. So in the end, because of the obvious fault with the pickup, I decided to return the guitar. I've opted for a refund rather than a replacement, as there are just a few too many cheap elements (machine heads, pickups, saddle and nut) to be confident that a replacement won't also suffer problems. One other comment. Included in the box is a flier asking for a "positive" review on Amazon in return for a free set of strings (this time not D'Addarios). Personally I think this kind of "bribery" is a little bit out-of-order and should not be allowed under Amazon's Terms and Conditions for sellers. I can't say for certain (and that is really my point), but could this be the reason for so many 5 star reviews of this and other Lindo guitars?Summary:Looks nice, sounds OK, with a few component upgrades and a relatively small amount of work, could be a great guitar. At £160, I'd say go for it - replace the saddle and pickup, perform some basic fret dressing and you'd still have a nice guitar for under £200 all-in. At the price I paid, I'd say it's borderline and at the current price of £199, I'd say there are better options out there.

This guitar is excellent. sounds amazing and looks the part
This guitar is excellent. sounds amazing and looks the part. The only down side is that the battery died after a month but that could be normal, not sure. I received this guitar before the time the company said they would send it out and I was over the moon. Had a slight technical issue to begin with so I phoned Lindo down in Bristol and they were brilliant help. I would recommend this guitar to anyone wanting to buy an electro-acoustic. Great value.

Wanted it to be great - but it wasn't
I'm not one for writing bad reviews and I really wanted to like this guitar. It had been on my wish list for ages while I saved up and most of the reviews were very positive. Delivery was fast and the guitar was well packaged, and supplied with a carry bag, guitar lead and an allen key for the truss rod. On opening it I was struck by how light it was. The finish and wood choice looked fantastic, very beautiful and classy. But on closer inspection I was disappointed with the quality of the plating on the metalwork. It looked very thin in places, and was worn away. On one of the of the tuning pegs the plating had chipped away showing the bear metal underneath. There was a glob of lacquer that had dripped over the edge of the sound-hole and looked a bit ugly. Admittedly I had to look close to see these things but overall it just made me feel less than pleased with what should have been a lovely guitar. The action was very high, and if I had kept it I would have sanded the bridge down considerably. The strings were old and oily leaving my fingers black. I decided to return the guitar and under Lindo's 14 day return policy I had to pay to send it back which cost £15.00. Overall I really wish the quality had been up to standard and I was disappointed to send it back. Lack of quality control really let this guitar down I'm sorry to say.
