The package inserts contain all kinds of helpful information, and there's even a log book. (The unit itself also saves your readings, which are averaged as well as listed by date and time. Very helpful if you're using this away from home and want to write readings down later.) A very tiny amount of blood is needed to get the meter to beep, indicating that you've got enough. (The first few times I used it I was squeezing out a blood drop maybe 5 mm wide, but it only needs a fraction of that, perhaps 2 mm.) Then, there's a five-second countdown timer, at the end of which time the results are displayed.I very much like the test strips because they draw the blood in. All you have to do is touch the end of the test strip to the blood drop. It's a very good system. There's a bottle of control solution in the box with the meter. Be sure to use this solution to check your unit's accuracy before testing any blood with it. The acceptable ranges for the control solution are printed on the bottom of the box containing the test strips. Testing the control solution also provides a good practice run in how these test strips work. Just squeeze a tiny drop of the solution onto a clean, non-absorbent surface such as a small piece of plastic (I used the plastic bag that the meter was packed in) and then touch the end of the test strip to the solution. You'll see the solution get drawn up into the strip. The meter will detect that it's the test solution and there will be a checkmark next to the number. Pull that strip out and throw it away; then you're ready to put in a new strip and check blood. When you see the tiny amount of the test solution that the meter drew in, you'll realize just how small of a blood drop you need, and you'll also have a feel for how to touch the strip to the blood.

This is the second glucose blood monitor I've owned. this one is so much simpler and easier to use results are very accurate quick. I would definitely recommend. I could never get the other one too give me an accurate reading plus it was very difficult to use always getting error messages

Seems pretty accurate to me. I bought two different monitors to compare their results. I tested them both at the same time, with the same drop, and they were 1 point different. Close enough!

Use this to test husbands blood sugar level.As a retired RN, I find it quite easy to use as well as accurate.

This meter was not correct at all. I tested it against 2 others, which had readings of 84,86....but this meter had 55.
