One Step Beyond Collector's Set (70 Episodes)

Great series remembered from when I was a kid, the haunting theme tune that I really cannot forget, ok one or two episodes are not very good resolution but I can live with that for the price of this collection. One of the reviewers stated that the acting was very good and I have to totally agree 100%, especially the episode where the lady ( she is wheelchair bound) in "Tidal Wave" disc 5, is frantically trying to contact someone to help her get out of the house and to safety, I found this end sequence quite moving and the amazing way that the deaf retired commander was somehow able to hear this ladies emotional calls for help and then assist her, John Newland introduces us to the actual lady who went through this ordeal at the end of this episode which I thought was really lovely as he kisses her hand after she had finished speaking in what I felt was his genuine appreciation for this ladies contribution as it added the finishing touch to this wonderful episode. The episode with Joan Fontaine and Warren Beatty also on disc 5 was also very notable I thought . .....Brilliant series.

Have only viewed half of the discs in this set so far. Sound and picture quality vary with 1st and half 2nd discs being very good. After this the S&P quality varies from good to okay but all episodes are watchable. I've enjoyed most of the (supposedly true) stories here but don't go expecting a Twilight Zone or Thriller. Paid around £11 so, good value for money.

Excellent set for the price, arrived fast, the price has dropped since I bought them and for the new price its a steal. Pre twilight zone, the stories are very creepy and very good, well written and interesting.

I run these stories four at a time over the week end so with 70 episodes it helps fil my viewing time

This is really dated now. Watched 1st disc the odd good story.tried to watch disc 2 .stories basically the same some them from disc one.l honestly was so bored by episode 4 .l can't be bothered to watch rest episodes or other discs.!!!!!

Very dated and pretty corny. Suitable for trainee insomniacs.

One of my favorite tv shows I use to watch. DVD set is great has the best stories and you just have to Believe it or Not .

So good!Classic stories. Very creepy. Unbeleivable they are true. Before all the woke trash there was a time of good television. Great heart felt acting by professionals. This stuff is leagues beyond the tripe they are making today. Thankyou for keeping such a good piece of history available to the public and at an awesome price! No trouble with regions and playback. Je savais que les dvd's étaient en noir et blanc.Mais la qualitée de l'image est excellente.Et le coffret ,réellement de qualité.De tres beaux disques en couleurs,et tout.Non! Je n'ai pas fumé!! Le cofret et le disigne sont tres beaux.Pour une vieille serie de 1959 je m'attendais à de la camelotte! Eh bien pas du tout.Et les histoires sont pas mal...dans le genre "twilight zone,premiere serie"!Pas trop de science fiction.Plutot de petites histoires bizarres!Des guest stars connus,comme Patrick MCNEE(the avengers),et Ross MARTIN(les mysteres de l'ouest).rajout. Je reviens sur mon commentaire,car je n'avais visualisé que 2 des dvd's,à partir du troisieme dvd,nouvelle saison(1960) et autre maison de production.et l'image est de moins bonne qualitée.J'estime que celà devait etre dit.
