I liked, it felt great. And my hair stylist approved.

I was a bit skeptical to use this when I saw the color. I was afraid it was going to stain or darken my hair. The shampoo is a bit runny, but it lathered up nicely and rinsed out well. I was happy that it did not leave any trace of the color behind. I do not use a conditioner with this shampoo (normally my hair gets ridiculously tangled without conditioner) but my hair is not hating it. I haven't had any major issues with tangling. My hair looks shiny and healthy. The shampoo doesn't have a long lasting scent, but it isn't a bad scent. Oh, and the bottle is huge so it should last a long time.

Admittedly, I went into using this shampoo being a bit reluctant as I had some dumb idea that this was going to be just another cheap off brand shampoo. I have thin hair that can get oily too quickly and looking stringy with the wrong haircare products. Have to say that I was quite pleased with the results of this shampoo.You receive a large bottle that should last you for a good while. By the way, it's good for the entire family. The biggest surprise was when I poured out some into the palm of my hand. It first appears to be a solid black color, but then you can see in the thinner areas around the edges more of a deep greenish blue color. That's when I feared that this might be better for those with black or dark brown hair. But I was already invested into this bath and hair washing session and wasn't going to back out. It has a really nice light, slightly fruity scent. As soon as you start to wash your hair, it lathers up into a traditional white lather. The color completely turns white as soon as you start to use this. It lathers up really well and feels good both on the scalp and throughout the hair. It also rinses away easily enough.After use, my hair was easy to brush through and looked and felt fine. Once fully dried, it still looked great and felt clean. Does not dry out the hair or scalp. No stringiness, nor does it make it feel like straw. Because of the color, I was wondering if it would darken my blonde/gray hair. Nope, not at all. I was relieved about that because I'm too pale for darker hair which makes me look washed out. This left my color alone and only did all the good things that you want your shampoo to do.

OK, so maybe I was supposed to know that this shampoo is a dark blue / black color? Or I suppose I should have read the ingredient list better and saw that the last two ingredients are black and blue color additives.At any rate, the color of the shampoo is important because I have naturally pure white hair and if I use products with any color other than white my hair can, and has, turned whatever color the product is. Even apparently colorless hair care products, like some anti-frizz gels for example, can affect my hair color. So, needless to say I have to be very careful about what I use on my hair and therefore am unable to try this shampoo. Actually, in my opinion I think that anyone with lighter hair color might exercise caution when using a hair care product as dark as this one is.I will say that like another reviewer I was confused if this product is intended for animals or humans, but the instructions do state to massage into the scalp, so I guess people can use it.The large 33 ounce bottle I received was sealed around the cap and had an inner safety seal, as well. Like previously mentioned the shampoo is really dark, but strangely it is also very low viscosity. As in low, thin viscosity like water. I don't know if this is normal for this product or not, but I have never had a shampoo of any kind that was literally like water, albeit in this case it is black water vs clear. For this reason alone I rated the product 3 stars. Although I also really think the manufacturer should show or somehow indicate that the shampoo is black in color.In fairness I must say that the ingredient list does include a number of oils and moisturizers, which should make it hydrating and if you have dark hair I suppose it could also enhance the color, due to the color additives.
