Very pleased.....
For the price you can't go wrong! Windows 8.1 isn't that bad with the touchscreen, it actually works hand in hand with the keyboard. It makes navigation quite easy, I won't be looking back. The machine boots very quickly and runs well. It has a nice spec; DVD RW, 500gb hard disk, Intel i5, 4gb ram, touchscreen..... What more do you need from a home laptop?UPDATE: Still enjoying the laptop, but have to comment on the increase in price by Amazon. I purchased for £379.99 (22/07/14) it's now £459.99. So my review is based on my purchase price.

Excellent Laptop for everyday use
I bought this device as a device for everyday computing, the display is awesome and the machine itself is very sleek and well designed. Battery life is excellent, and very portable.The device is much faster than I expected. Don't be fooled by the 1.6 GHz speed advertised, the core has a max frequency of 2.4GHz which it utilities most of the time. Very fast boot up time and no problem with speed whatsoever. You may also find the speed to improve once you remove the pre-installed Acer apps!The touch-screen is very responsive and a nice addition to this device. I have had no problems with it at all.The only negative about this laptop I have found, is that the keyboard is not hugely responsive, and occasionally misses a key-press. If you are used to a very responsive keyboard you may find you have to press the keys a tiny bit harder than usual...

Cheap, ok, low quality.
Very poor graphics, poor keyboard - clumpy and makes typing slow. The numbers key (on the right) don't work. The touchscreen is good though. Cheap laptop = low quality. Stay far away from this laptop if you are visually challenged like me. The graphics are so poor.

Unfortunately this laptop failed at just over 2 yrs old with a totally blank screen. External monitor connectedalso blank - diagnosed as video driver failure & needs new motherboard. Not acceptable to fail after such a short time.
