After scrolling through amazon reading a few different reviews on other similar mattress toppers I decided with this one.The item arrived quickly and is delivered in a box with the topper rolled up, have some scissors to hand so you can cut it free, first thing I noticed was there was no serious smell of chemicals like other reviews have mentioned, however there was a very faint (newish) smell but that’s to be expected from any new mattress being released from its packaging so in not sure if other people have sensitive noses or there was in fact an issue with there product but I noticed nothing at all, to be honest I didn’t even feel the need to air it out for a few hours as other have also recommended but obviously this is something which is at the discretion of the customer.As soon as I released the topper it sprung into shape and fitted to my mattress very easily with the 4 ends slipping under nice and easily.I went to sleep that night and instantly noticed an improvement in comfort, you do sink into it the longer you’re there so it’s worth turning over once in the night if you don’t want to be too sunk in as it can get warm.I woke up the next day for the first time in months without major lower back pain, (this mattress does not take pain away completely) however it gives a very comfortable nights sleep and gives much more support to the spine which results in much less pain when you wake up.Overall if you are a person like me who suffers from sciatica or general back pain this is a very good choice, I’m just hoping that over time with use the topper doesn’t begin to sag but time will tell.

HiBed springs coming through a only six month old mattress, don't let kids bounce on new mattress (lesson learnt).Started suffering from lower back ache, quite active, job involves lots of walking so conclusion fix mattress, researched memory foam mattress as didn't really want to spend nearly £200 again on a mattress.Lots of reading and checking with sleeping help sites later, 3-4 inch thick is essential, anything less or more no good (you can check yourself).Considered the number one selling 3 inch foam mattress (won't mentation as not sure I can) on Amazon, but chose this one as came with cover and after reading all reviews had a little more faith and was 4 inch which is what the 'professionals advised'.Was delivered within 3 days, happy, turned my mattress over (wasn't one that you should every whatever time frame is. Unpacked delivery, it's shrink wrapped, so unrolled and left on floor in a very well ventilated room, turning over after about six hours (thought should have left for a full 24hrs, to return to correct shape and to get rid of slight musky smell), but didn't.Shaped returned within 8hrs, and fitted double bed perfectly, musky smell was still present but after a little research think that is due to making it fire proof....After first nights sleep back ache wasn't as bad as usual, 3 days later its almost gone, and that's with youngest child sleeping in my bed too.Now look forward to going to bed, one of the best things I've bought of Amazon.PROS.1. 11st & 6ft and best night sleep for a long long time.2. Quick delivery.3. Comes with cover (though put another sheet over it).4. With sleeping posture....IT WORKS !!CONS1. It still has a musky smell, not too bad and don't really notice when in bed (and if because fire proof, that's acceptable).2. Don't know how long these keep their shape......3. Maybe have to buy some form of fabric freshener, I haven't lol.Seriously, if you suffer back ache or can't a afford super mattress, this works.Researched into memory

The delivery was super fast (arrived the next day rather than next week). When it arrived, the way it was packed put me off as it was not that well protected but it was in a box, so fair enough. The smell went away after being aired for two days in another room and it was not that bad( mulled wine w/ vanilla? lol). It helped with my lower back pain. When I sit up on the bed for longer periods of time, my back does not hurt anymore. My lower back pain occurred 1 out of 14 nights, which is amazing as it used to occur every night. So 93% helpful when it comes to lower back pain, bear in mind it will take you a week to get used to the new structure of the bed. Summary: It did meet my expectations and it did improve my sleep quality. One thing: because this is a mattress topper, not a mattress, it might move/shake a bit when your partner is getting out of bed, it might wake you up, but it depends on if your partner is focussed on getting up or not waking you. If it is the latter, you won't have a problem, but if they're not thinking about it, the topper will shake/move a bit.

This is a review of the 4" memory foam topper.It arrived boxed and the topper was folded and rolled and wrapped in cling film.On opening the was no discernable smell as mentioned by some.The topper has a very nice zipped coverI left the topper for the rest of the day to revert to its normal size.The first night of use I wasn't sure if I had made the right decision to buy it.It sat on top of my old mattress and felt very firm by contrast. I did feel supported though. It just felt too firm.The second night was a little better but I still felt the difference acutely. At this time I also bought some new pillows.The third night was much better. I was getting used to the firmer feel and waking up feeling much better. My hip which has arthritis wasn't sore and my back no longer felt stiff.Now I am very happy with it.They say it is a 4 in terms of firmness on a scale of 1-10. I'd say it was at least a 6Also, I'd recommend getting some of those clips that hold the bedsheet in place otherwise the sheet tends to wrinkle under you when you move aroundDefinitely good value and recommended
