Hustler 4-BTV Vertical antenna, 10-40m, 22ft

The Hustler 4BTV is a great antenna. I have it ground mounted without radials and it is working great. Lower noise than my 40m dipole and multiband to boot. I followed the manufacturer directions for all measurements and SWR is less than 1.5:1 on 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m. I decided to mount with no radials and can now work stations that I could not even hear on the dipole. Give me a call on the Wingnut ragchew frequency, 7.230MHz, and hear how it performs. It is surprising how well this antenna works. Of course, it needs radials or a large metal structure to mount it on. I already had an 80-meter resonator so I just screwed that on and boom 10-80 meters. I use it as a receive antenna for my SDR receiver which is also available from Amazon. Very well made antenna and works well.I would like to see an SO239 connector on the bottom rather than having the separate wires being attached to studs with nuts.

This antenna arrived with the hardware bag torn open and parts scattered throughout the box with some missing. It didn’t appear very well packed. But I managed to come up with enough parts at the hardware store to complete the installation. Still a great antenna though.

Let me Be Clear From The Start I Have a Hustler 5-BTV Vertical HF Antenna Not a 6BTV Or The 4BTV But The Only Difference between the 4BTV & 5BTV & The 6BTV is The 4BTV don't do 80m or 30M The 5BTV Don't Do 30m(Its cw Only so no big Deal) But All Three Antennas are More or Less The Same Just one or two More Bands an like i said i don't do cw so Didn't Need It I Have My Hustler 5BTV Ground Mounted 4 inches from The Ground With No Radials & I Have Talked All Over The Place on Just 100w & For a HF Vertical Ant The Hustler BTV Ant Is Very Very Hard To Beat ! I Really Like Mine it is Resonant on all Bands other Than 80m & it is Pretty Narrow But I Have it Tuned for the Middle of The General Band And It Works Very Well ! One Other Thing I Bought mine from some one Other Than Amazon & saved 150$+ so Just Do Ya Research & You may find the Same Place i Did if Your Already a Ham ! I Think my Farthest Contact is 6-7,000 Miles ! These Are Not A Local Talking ANT These Are For DX & They Are Great At It IMHO ! Follow The Manual Take Your Time & Tune It Properly & You Will Be Set !
