The straws are 12 mm in diameter. These were the only such I could find on Amazon.ae. I wish the plastic straw walls were slightly thicker. Usually, one uses larger diameter straws with viscous things like milkshakes and smoothies. I fear these might collapse too easily; however, they are the proper diameter for my needs and it is likely that the walls are as thick as smaller diameter straws. The individual wraps are thin white paper such as one might find around a fast food straw. The straws are not wrapped in cellophane as the photo suggests. I slid a 10mm straw easily inside this 12mm straw to check diameter; the smaller straw easily fit inside. If you prefer a larger diameter than the typical 10mm straw, this straw fits the bill. Pros: widest wide straw I could find; tapered end; individually wrapped. Cons: They feel a little thin; individual wraps are more fragile than cellophane; tapered end. I listed the taper on both pro and con lists because it may or may not increase its utility for the buyer's needs.
