Teal Triangle Freestanding G-Watersport Kayak and SUP Outdoor Storage Rack, Heavy Duty Adjustable Weatherproof Stand

Received and put together recently with an aim of storing kayaks in the basement during the winter. So I haven’t yet subjected the rack to a full load. Only one of the four boat positions is in use so far. With that caveat, here are my impressions. The rack arrived well packaged with no parts missing or damaged. In fact, there were one or two extras of some of the smallest parts (washers, nuts, bolts). The assembly instructions were good — some further detail would have improved them but they were easy enough to follow. The parts went together without difficulty and the end result seems to be a sturdy rack that should meet my needs. As I won’t be using it outside, it’s ability to withstand the effects of weather aren’t a concern for me. It might or might not be good in this regard. I just don’t know. What I do know is that you need metric tools (sockets, wrenches) to put it together, which isn’t specified anywhere that I saw. I’m glad I had them, as I would have been pretty frustrated otherwise.

Although this is a kayak stand I misread the description and thought it would accommodate a 36 inch wide canoe. It will not as the arms are only 28 inches long. However, I was able to modify it with 2 inch ABS pipe forced over the arms to lengthen it out to 38 inches. I also ran chain from the end of the arms through the ABS pipe so I can still tie down my boats to the chain at the front and the original tie downs at the back. The chain will also reinforce the ABS pipe should it get very hot and the pipe bends, though this is highly unlikely. I deducted a star because the description and pictures do not match what I actually received, though the difference is slight. The padding on the arms is different (what I received is probably better for my kayak where no modifications is required, but made modifying it for my canoes more difficult) and it was supposed to have locking pins to make adjusting the height between the arms easy, but mine came with ordinary nuts and bolts instead. A trip to the hardware store rectified this, but for 4 pins (two sets of arms) it cost $5 and the time wasted driving to town to get them. Minor and not enough to change my mind about recommending this product. Also note that I would highly recommend using sand bags on the bottom legs to stabilize the stand or otherwise fasten the legs to the ground. I have mine right against a wall, but if left free standing, a strong wind could knock it over.

Well I'm a cottage person and we looked at many types. This product is not wood log stuff. Wow it's easy to set up and looks great. I'm very pleased and recommend to anyone needing a solution .
