Beautifully Written!
First-time Author and life-long Historian, Wes Koerner, has talent! A Santa Fe Story: A Novel of the 1680 Pueblo Revolt against the Spanish colonizers in what we now call New Mexico comes alive, because of Koerner’s natural ability as a Storyteller.Neither the atrocities of the conquering Spaniards nor of the rebelling Puebloans are minimized. In the midst of harsh realities and difficult times in an unforgiving desert, the forbidden, stubborn love of a young multi-cultural couple gives us hope.If all history was as historically informative and entertaining as A Santa Fe Story, everyone would love history. I highly recommend the book!

Was ok...
As a pueblo Indian from NM, I thought it would be a more historical read, but was more a love story...

Very well written for what appears to be this author's ...
Very well written for what appears to be this author's first book. I am from, and live in, the area in which the story takes place, and I still learned a few things. I found myself on several occasions looking up character names to determine which were real and which were fictional, so well was the fiction combined with the history; I also had to check my geography. The author seems well-versed in the subject.

New Mexico History-the fun way
I love it when an author grabs my attention with a story and weaves in history in the process. This story doesn't just teach the history of the events, but gives insight into how different groups related to one another and what would've shaped the characters' approach to life. Honor and integrity are values that come through.

Entertaining and Educational Read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It is an excellent story of adventure, rivalry and love set in the context of the Pueblo revolt. The pace and mood of the book keep the reader engaged throughout. As I read the book I felt like I was being entertained, and at the same time learning about the context of the Pueblo Revolt and New Mexico history. This book would be a great read for anyone who enjoys historical fiction, and I think it would even be a great text for teachers wanting to teach their students Native American history in a way that is entertaining and engaging. I highly recommend the book!
