Black Mulch Dye

I saw this product and wanted to give it a try. The results were both positive and negative. First, it does cover the old mulch and even dyes some dead grass that was in there too. I followed the instructions on the label and poured the dye into an old pump sprayer, shook it up and went to work. At first it worked pretty well and covered nicely. I went through thr first two gallons and mixed up a second batch. Midway through this application, the sprayer began to clog but I kept clearing out the sprayer wand and forged ahead. Finally I poured the rest of the dye into the sprayer, added water and tried to finish the job but the sprayer clogged completely. The intake hose was totally clogged up and now I have a fully pumped up sprayer and unable to relieve the pressure. I figured that I could crack open the lid to slowly release the pressure. Bad idea. It sprayed all over everywhere including myself. In the process, this can be very messy. I lost the nozzle off the spray wand and decided to give up. It doesn’t have to be this way for you if you do the following:Use a better sprayer than I did, maybe one designed for deck stain.Mix the stuff up. Mix it and mix it again. You can’t mix it too much!Then use a strainer when you pour it into the sprayer.This would probably be best for smaller areas, I was trying to do a large one.My attempt was not a total failure but not a great success either. Next time, I’ll just buy more mulch.

It will dye anything if you can get it to spray out . There are a lot of clumps in it

Had previously bought a more expensive brand of mulch dye which did a great job of recoloring our existing mulch beds.Bought this product because I didn’t need much more to complete the project and this was a cheap alternative.Basically needed to use 2X the amount of dye compared to the more expensive product and had issues with it not flowing out of the brand new pump sprayer I bought for this task. Guessing that this product had something that allowed it to clump or otherwise clog my sprayer and make it much more difficult to complete project.You get what you pay for applies to this product in my opinion. If you don’t expect much, you probably will be satisfied.

Hate to refill our mulch beds in the Florida heat. The sun drains the color out of mulch so this dye is a quick and easy way to keep mulch looking good with out kill our backs🤗

This is by far the best black dye for mulch I've used. Doesn't fade. Amazing
