Product Description All the animals at the Franklin Park Zoo love their kindhearted caretaker, Griffin Keyes (Kevin James). Finding himself more comfortable with a lion than a lady, Griffin decides the only way to get the girl of his dreams is to leave the zoo and find a more glamorous job to win her over. The animals, in a panic, decide to break their time-honored code of silence and reveal their biggest secret: they can talk! To keep Griffin from leaving, they decide to teach him the rules of courtship – animal style! Also featuring the voices of Cher, Nick Nolte, Adam Sandler and Sylvester Stallone. From .co.uk Picture talking animals giving mating advice to a zookeeper who's an absolute loser with women, add a hefty dose of slapstick humour, and you've pretty much summed up Zookeeper. Griffin is a disaster with the ladies, as was proved by his failed marriage proposal to the self-absorbed Stephanie several years ago, but he's really good with animals. The animals have listened to Griffin pine over Stephanie for years, so when they overhear Stephanie saying that perhaps her rejection of Griffin was too hasty, they take action. They decide to help Griffin rekindle the relationship and become the alpha male that Stephanie wants him to be. The animals are masters at mating, but their plan to show Griffin how to act quickly breaks down and they inadvertently begin talking out loud to him. After his initial shock, Griffin starts to take the animals' advice seriously--from how to walk and roar to the extreme of marking his territory. Surprisingly, the animals' advice really works and Griffin is about to get everything he's ever dreamed of--or is he? There's plenty of star power in this film--from Kevin James as Griffin, to the voice talents of Sylvester Stallone as Joe the lion and Cher as his lioness, Adam Sandler as Donald the monkey, and Nick Nolte as Bernie the gorilla--but somehow they're all somewhat underwhelming. This film has more than its share of cheap laughs, often at the expense of some part of Griffin's body, and some viewers will find that just right for a night's entertainment. Those looking for a moral to the story will discover that it's wise to be careful what you wish for and that what you think you want may not be anything like what you really need. Zookeeper isn't a great film destined for repeated watchings, but it's not meant to be--it's a comedy that will make you laugh a bit today and forget it the second you leave the theatre. Rocket science it aint
I've always liked Kevin James since his sitcom The King of Queens and I like his particular brand of humour. I bought this DVD pretty sure I knew exactly how this would pan out. And guess what? I was exactly correct. It's predictable, the story is typical and unoriginal but I just don't care. I fairly roared with laughter all the way through. The comedy is well timed and very well executed. The film has a brisk and steady tempo, it never gets bogged down and although many of the characters are a bit two dimensional it really doesn't matter. They all play their roles and the film is a very funny sum of it's parts. It doesn't take a genius to recognise that the humour isn't particularly high brow so don't go buying it expecting a Woody Allen classic, it ain't gonna happen. But if you want a little bit of escapism after a week of drudgery this'll do it. It lifted my spirits, made me laugh and cheered me right up. And I can't always say that about an obvious slapstick comedy.Don't expect miracles, just grab a bottle of beer and enjoy yourself. It's a hoot.

Go On Laugh out loud!
The whole family loved this film for exactly what is supposed to be, a laugh out loud family comedy. I hate it when people over analise and criticise the acting or the story line or this or that! Who cares? This film is what it says on the tin! Don't mock it for not being a fillet steak when your ordered a cheese burger! We cannot wait until it is out on Blu ray so we can all laugh together again. I'll make sure we get the seperate DVD for the car and I can guarantee my kids will wear it out just like the original Johnny English DVD and they can't wait for the long overdue Reborn sequel either coming out in October 2011. Shame on you for not giving this film 5 stars!

pleasant movie for those people who like to sit with the family for an enjoyable evening
Possibly I'm being a bit generous giving it five stars, it won't win any awards, but it does make for a very relaxing, pleasant movie for those people who like to sit with the family for an enjoyable evening. There is a lack of sex, violence and car chases, so if you are into that kind of thing forget it, if not, sit back, put your feet up and get ready for an evening's relaxation.

Very Funny
My 6 year son and I loved this film. We had seen it at the cinema previously but couldn't wait to watch it again and laugh out loud!!!! Although the story is moderately romantic and probably some bits went over his head, i thought it was a great film for all the family.
