and it's a great introduction for mid-level readers to expand their star wars ...
So this is a standard fake-journal for the movie in the same vein as Rey's Survival Guide and Poe's Log.This one is written from the perspective of Paige Tico, Rose's sister from the movie. In it, she explains how the Resistance bomber squad works. It's interesting to read details that flesh-out the universe, including different types of ships and Rose and Paige's backstory that Rose mentioned in the movie. Paige's voice seems real, and it's a great introduction for mid-level readers to expand their star wars experiences. It also allows us to learn more about Rose since TLJ wasn't great at character development of any kind - the book ends with a few pages written by her.The book also contains fold-out pages including: Bomber Schematics, Breath Mask Instructions(for Oxygen Breathers), Bombers Through Time, Crash Procedural Manual, a Galactic Map (which shows which planets are considered in First Order Space), a low-detail map of the Tico's homeworld, and a copy of FrontierCorps recruitment pamphlet from their homeworld.

Fun but not what I was expecting
First I'd like to say that Paige Tico is one of those characters I kinda fell in love with during the beginning minutes of The Last Jedi and I don't even know why. Her bravery and sacrifice really struck a cord and I'll never be able to understand how that happened... but it did. So when I got this book I was hoping it was going to flesh out her backstory a bit more than it did, but instead it talks way more about the Resistance and her personal job as a Bomber than anything else. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing because I'm assuming she didn't start writing in this Journal until after she joined the Resistance, but I wish we would've gotten more of her personal story. I wish I would've known this before getting it so I wouldn't have been as disappointed. It's fun but not what I was expecting.

An adorable and somewhat revealing in universe story that expands a bit on TLJ. Reads like a journal out of WWII with technical details

Not enough value
Unlike the books from Daniel Wallace, this one adds nothing, reuses promotional photos and the choice of paper/design leaves a lot to be desired

A terrific hero from the new Star Wars movies gets her own story.
This is a novel starring Paige Tico, sister of Rose from The Last Jedi.Jason Fry digs into Paige's character in this all-ages novel, as is the traditional style of the movie tie-in. Kids of any age are going to dig this story, a brand-new adventure with a terrific hero in the time frame of The Last Jedi movie. The illustrations and the haphazard, fun journal-style design of the book will pull in younglings who are not quite ready for page after page of text. All books should have design schematics for space bombers. There, I said it.

I can't say it enough The book Cobalt Squadron should have been
This is the companion to the Cobalt Squadron book. In this case the companion turns out to be so much better then that actual book. Yes the book is written for younger readers but it is, good straight to the point, and I learn more about the character in the (A5 size) 100 or so page book then I did in much bigger and much slower Cobalt Squadron book. yes the book has many pictures and foldout sections, these add to the fun of the book. This book is written as a journal extracts by Paige Tico. The older sister of Rose Tico, even though she did not get much screen time in the movie definitely showed her metal in the time she had. The books talks about her history, her own though on the resistance the leadership, her unit, and of course her sister. With as couple of extracts from Rose herself. Personally because of her part in the movie this was definitely a story that needed to be told. It had me from the start the first page. She lives bubble, the only people she can see are the enemy fighter trying to killer her before she kills them, and her only feeling is the recoil from the guns she is firing. This is the book Cobalt Squadron should have been, I think that book should have been written in Paige's point of view. This book cover their mission in the book as well as others, and condenses it down and give the important details so much quicker. My advice is do not bother with Cobalt and just read this one.

All one needs to enlist with the Resistance
A nice, well illustrated hard cover book for both Star Wars fans of all sorts and young ladies. The book is presented in a refreshing journal style from the perspective of Paige Tico who sadly did not survive the spectacularly opening scenes of the Last Jedi - not my favourite Star Wars movie due to Luke’s convoluted attitude to the Force and the Jedi, nevertheless the Rose and Paige side story is attractive. The book is overflowing with information about the Resistance, it provides detail about squadron personnel, there are schematics of the Resistance bombers, a fold-out overview of bombers across the Star Wars saga, a galactic map, a handy crash procedure manual and First Order personnel drafting advertisements! - it all feels quite plausible and I very much enjoyed the book. But hen again, I’m totally biased when it comes to Star Wars. My 11-year old literary enthusiast with a mild interest in Star Wars also appreciated the book, but was slightly less enthused - she told me has read better books. I wanted to use it for a guided reading session with our youngest, but the cursive/hand-written font does not lend itself well for that.

Great to get boys reading
My reluctant reader fell on this and wouldn't put it down. Job done.

In-world libro
Es un in-world libro bien escrito para un personaje irrelevante que expande su historia. Incluye páginas dobles, planos de vehículos, biografías.Este tipo de libros son mis favoritos escritos en primera en forma de diario.
