Torchlighters: John Bunyan

Let us all learn from the life of John Bunyan. He began like all of us--a sinner in need of a Savior. He became a follower of Jesus, and spent many years in prison because of it. Like many others, he proclaimed the truths of God's word, yet by doing so, he went against the popular religion of his day. His most famous book, Pilgrim's Progress, used to be in nearly every Christian home. Now most, it seems, do not even know who John Bunyan was. Pilgrim's Progress shows the difficulties and temptations common to Christians as they live this life. Another book of his, The Holy War, is an allegory like Pilgrim's Progress, yet shows the struggles that Christians face as they surrender all to Jesus and seek holiness rather than the typical worldliness. Amid the common surface-level preaching we often hear today, it would be good for all to begin by watching this dvd and learning more about one who lived for God. Both adults and children will enjoy this dvd. The special features included are great, too, as we learn more about the man John Bunyan.

These are an amazing alternative to the mindless, drivel put out for kids these days. Why watch monster high and my little ponies when you can fill your child's mind with deep, meaningful, real life, faith filled tales made in a traditional animation style that is sure to capture the attention of child and adult alike. My kids, my husband and myself all love this series.

After I watched this movie titled “The John Bunyan Story” I did not know that he was a well known christian author. He wrote so many books. One day I will read his book titled “The Pilgrim’s Progress.”

Great message. My 8 year old loved it as well. She is finishing reading a simplified version of Pilgrim's progress which made this video even more powerful for her. The Torchlighters series is filled with great videos.

Excellent series. My daughters (4 & 6) love them all and we love introducing Them to the heroes of the faith at an early age. Sometime we do have to sacrifice our lives for the cross, it's not always rainbows and puppy dogs.

My nine year old really enjoyed the movie. It is well written and entertaining for younger children to understand and learn about our heros of the faith.

I was very much impressed with the quality of the animation and story. Looking forward to watching the other titles.

An informative movie with decent animation. My kids have wanted to watch it again and again. A great intro activity if you're going to read a children's version of Pilgrim's Progress
