Best Team Ever by David Burkus resonates strongly with a human-centred, high-performance teaming framework I have used successfully for over 4 decades.While some of the cornerstones of David Burkus’ model may seem modern eg prosocial purpose and psychological safety, the 6 underpinning foundations of clarity, empathy, trust, respect, meaning and impact are as old as time.These are brilliantly illustrated with inspiring stories, underscored with background research and brought to life with some excellent ‘hacks’ borrowed from a smorgasbord of sound experiential actions.There are areas where the activities could be turbo-boosted to create an even greater experience and outcome, but whoever follows this comprehensive model will certainly be doing themselves and their team colleagues a very big favour indeed.

We are in the middle of a re-organisation. The book doesn't present any fundamentally new ideas, but the way the author explains the concepts and his approachable writing style, based on solid research, make the book absolutely worth reading.

Using a blend of vast professional experience and results of scientific research, David Burkus (MSC in organizational psychology, PhD in strategic leadership, ranked multiple times as one of the world’s top business thought leaders) wrote an excellent book on what defines outperforming teams. It's a nice, inspiring read as well, because of the stories it contains. Nevertheless, it's pretty concise. Totally recommended!

Good read with relevant examples for how to engage and build teams. Shorter than I expected. Easy read.

Everything outlined is good, practical insights. Build safety, focus on purpose, build trust and respect. If you’re looking for original work, this is not it. If you’re looking for a step by step, start from scratch book, this is not it. If you’re looking for solid advice on team leadership with some interesting stories, then this is for you.
