Brilliant Piano - You will not regret buying this.
Fantastic Piano - Absolutely love this thing. I have not stopped playing this since it arrived and it is a joy to use. Superb quality and excellent sound. It's also a lot bigger and heavier than I was expecting, which is probably a good sign as Yamaha have clearly put a lot of technology inside it to weigh this much. It's totally exceeded my expectations and I've found I play much better on it. The weighting and feel of the keys is excellent and I found it very natural to play on.Several of my friends have high quality upright acoustic pianos, and I can safely say this digital piano sounds massively better than their real pianos - seriously. I also used to practice on a grand piano many years ago and you can make this Yamaha sound even better than that by just changing some of the default sound settings. The reverbs are also gorgeous and extremely high quality - I have found you really need to increase the depth settings though to appreciate them, as the default settings seem to have hardly any reverb applied. The Piano tones are excellent but also surprisingly the Harpsichord tone on it is mindblowing - you won't believe how amazing and real it sounds. I was shocked the first time I heard it and clearly a lot of work has gone into producing this sound - I was not expecting this kind of sound quality. This is a superb piano - it seems to be very high quality and the hidden features and settings are cleverly designed and useful. Most importantly it sounds incredible - I would suggest tinkering around with the hidden settings to suit your tastes as it makes a massive difference. This piano sounds better than the real pianos I've played but you need to tinker with the settings a bit.My only criticisms are:I would have liked a glossy piano black finish to the outer plastic - it really deserves one.The plastic sustain pedal feels cheap and is far too light in my opinion. A metal sustain pedal would have more suitably matched the quality of the piano itself.

A great midi and weighted keyboard with top quality piano sounds.
I looked hard and long for a keyboard that would serve a dual purpose. I wanted a Midi keyboard controller for Cubase and Reason on PC and as importantly wanted a weighted keyboard to get back into proper piano playing. I needed it to be light enough to have in front of my PC screen for on line sight reading and exercises and recording. I wasn't really interested in on board sounds or recording features.I looked at the Nektar Panorama P6 MIDI Keyboard which looks great but would not fulfill the weighted side of my needs.so ended up looking at the Yamaha range of keyboards and couldn't make up my mind.Reading a lot of reviews I finally decided to go for the P-115. Ideally I would have liked the NP-31 with its 76 keys but it wasn't truly weighted. I then realised that its length was basically the same as the 88 key P-115 so that made my mind up although I was concerned about weight the extra weight.Ordered it on Tuesday and it arrived the next day, good old Amazon. Great packaging. I was delighted to see my wife carrying the very long box easily from the courier's van. I must say that I am astounded by the quality of this keyboard. The weighting of the keys is excellent. It is substantial but not too heavy. The features are interesting - all the extra sounds are reasonable, however I am not particularly interested in them. The main thing is the incredible Yamaha Piano sounds - they are fantastic. I didn't think I would be bothered if there wasn't on board sounds as I planned to use my PC with the VST plugins - however I just can't stop playing it. It is a perfect keyboard. Not extraordinarily loud but nearly as loud as a normal piano on maximum. It is a joy to play and is inspiring me to want to keep playing. It does not come with a midi/usb cable which I can understand as most people would not use this keyboard with a PC. So a standard type 3 connector to type A is what is needed and Win 10 saw the device straight away with no additional drivers needed and midi flows perfectly to the PC. I have no idea why they chose to use a type B USB socket on the keyboard or come to that standard midi din connectors - seems unusual in my experience. But it does stay in better than micro and mini USB connectors. It does have the ability to record a couple of tracks, play demo songs and has an in built metronome (I hate electronic metronomes pinging at me lol) and holding down two buttons puts it into a 'function' mode where you can change settings using the keyboard keys for volume enhancement, changing tempo etc. It will play one finger accompaniment although that seems like a one minute novelty, not really sure of the point of that when anyone buying this inexpensive quality piano would surely want to learn to use their left hand properly. I cannot say that I particularly like not being able to see what is set (nothing lights up to show the settings) but those functions are there but of little interest to me.So overall a delight and I can't stop playing it - it is a great purchase.
