MFS' D-11 Lightning Sifter Mealworm Frass Sifting Pan (1st Gen)

This frass pan sifter is made of stainless steel, which is incredibly durable and easy to clean. It also fits perfectly on a 5-gallon bucket, so I can sift through a lot of material at once. The best part about this sifter is how quickly and easily it separates the frass from the other contents of my bins. I used to just let the frass sit in my bins because I didn’t have any easy way to remove it. Over time, I noticed that my beetles and mealworms were not producing like they used to (likely due to the stress of living in their own castings). Now that I am able to sift out the frass easily, I do it regularly, and my mealworms and beetles are thriving! If you're a mealworm farmer, I highly recommend MFS’ frass pan siter. It's a game-changer, and it will make your life so much easier!

A must have to add to the collection of Mill worm farming solutions. I didn’t know they had a five pack for discounted price. I should have just bought the five pack. It may seem a little pricey but I promise you it’s worth it.

I have been using the pupae pan sifter, large pan sifter and frass pan sifter, and HOLY COW do they save me time! I am able to pour an entire mealworm bin into the sifters stacked on top of a 5-gallon bucket (pupae sifter on top, followed by the large pan and finally the frass pan). With just a few shakes, everything’s separated: the pupae stay on top, the next level has my mature mealworms, and the bottom level catches the smaller mealworms and food (so I don’t waste any and I get to put them in another bin to grow out). And all of the frass falls through the last sifter. I can’t wait to buy their medium pan and small pan to complete my set! Honestly the biggest CON for this purchase is that I can only give it 5 stars!

It’s Incredibly efficient the way it separates mealworm frass from the wheat bran in my bins. I wish I had found this pan sooner! It’s also very well made.

I had already bought 3 other sifters from this brand and loved them, so I decided to get this one too. I'm planning to use the frass in my vegetable garden this season. This works like a charm to get everything sorted!

I bought the pupae pan sifter, large pan sifter, medium pan sifter, small pan sifter, and frass pan sifter. They are all super sturdy, yet not heavy at all. What has really impressed me is how well they work! I am able to pour an entire mealworm bin into the sifters stacked on top of a 5-gallon bucket (pupae sifter on top, followed by the large pan, medium pan, small pan, and frass pan). By shaking the bucket and sifters back and forth vigorously for a few minutes, everything separates out. The mature pupae stay on top, the second level has my larger mature mealworms, the third and fourth levels catch my medium-sized and smaller-sized mealworms, respectively (so I can grow them out in separate bins), and the frass pan catches all of the food substrate (which can be re-used in my other grow bins), while letting the frass fall through into the bucket. I use the frass in my garden to make my vegetable plants grow big and strong. I am SO happy with my purchase - these sifting pans are worth every penny!!
