Dragon's Crown Vol.1 (DRAGONS CROWN GN)

Missing some dragons and plot but a fun read
Dragon's Crown, based on the game of the same name, sees a group of wonderfully/ridiculously (take your pick) exaggerated designed typical fantasy characters, including a prettyboy wizard, hyper buff dwarf and beautiful sorceress who's going to have back problems, embark on a quest to retrieve said crown. Well sort of, part of the problem of this being an adaptation of the game is that it doesn't really do much in the way of world building, and each chapter is a pretty much unconnected tale of exploring your different dungeon types, while while fine for a game where the focus is on the action here it makes things feel a bit disjointed and unclear as to what's actually happening in the world. There are plenty of fights at least, though they're not the most exciting I've seen, and a bit more blood wouldn't go amiss frankly to make them a bit more gritty, but they're not bad. What possibly I found most entertaining was the interaction between the adventures, not un-similar similar to Goblin Slayer, the banter and joking between them was rather enjoyable, and helped add an extra layer to it. I liked the art, it's generally pretty detailed, and the styled characters look good (although yes there is quite a lot of skin on show for some of them, which might bother some), and while the fight scenes can be a bit short and brief they're decently presented. If I could give this 3.5 stars I would, feels a bit harsh 'only' giving 3, I certainly enjoyed it - but the plot feels disjointed and jumps around without any real connection between stories, which might be fine for a game but for manga it doesn't work so well. Perhaps part 2 will clear this up more, I shall see.

Simple but good fun.
If you're a fan of the game and like Japanese comics then you'll probably know what to expect from this comic. The art is great and the comics are generally enjoyable, but it's nothing revolutionary.SPOILERS: It basically just goes through the levels of the game. The comic is split into chapters which take the story along. The characters have their own personalities which is a nice touch.

A must have for fans of the game
The art in this manga is amazing and definitely manages to match the gorgeous images from Vanillaware's game. The main characters from Dragon's Crown are all here and are given great personalities. Their banter and interactions are a joy to see. The way they managed to integrate the game's missions into the story is great and you'll see a lot of the monsters and places that you'd expect. Overall this is a must have for fans of the game.

Loved this manga
I really loved reading this manga as it's full of hilarious parts and I feel bad for the dwarf as he seems to get a thought time. I really can't wait for the next volume!
