We'Ll Meet Again The Best Of Vera Lynn Pvg Paperback – 15 Oct. 2009

Bought as a present for a piano playing friend. He absolutely loves it and is excited to use it

I was asked to play for the funeral of a lady who had been a driver in the armed forces during the second world war, and the family specially requested the music sung by Vera Lynn. This book came to the rescue. The arrangements consist of voice + piano accompaniment, but the piano arrangements can be used on their own if required, and they're straightforward for a pianist of intermediate standard. The only drawback (hence only 4 stars) is that the keys chosen are too high for most singers (Vera Lynn excepted!). Fortunately the venue had a modern organ with a transpose button which made it easier to lower the pitch so that people could comfortably join in with "We'll meet again"!

I was so excited to find this collection as "We'll Meet Again" has been playing in my head for weeks and I've learned the lyrics, but longed for the piano score.When I saw it would have to come from the UK, I mentally adjusted for the "long range" patience necessary.Prime Orders say it will arrived by the 22nd, but I got it around the 12th. Thank you, thank you, thank you!It's still playing in my head, but now I can reconstruct it on the piano. It's got some tricky chord progressions (fingers tangled). Love the challenge!
