The jaws are well ground and only need a little breaking of sharp edges.I think the spring tension is a little stiff so I have ground them a little thinner to make it easier to feel how tight the pliers squeeze the material.The pliers are small so if you work with thicker pieces you might be better off with a larger set, but for most work I think these are handy and easy to maneuver.
