Excellent for an Amaran 200 light - Ideal if Careful, Unsuitable for Heavy Pro Use / Abuse
I was looking for a bag/case(s) and thought this might work out OK, which it did. It's relatively good but doesn't offer pro-grade industrial protection. My problem: Having initially bought one Amaran 200Xs light to see if it was any good, I was sufficiently impressed to buy a further two units. But, I didn't like having no case and thus needing to retain the shipping box, which only provided a modicum of protection (budget lights). Amaran is arguably Apurture's 'amateur' line, so 'no case' is part of that compromise.Having seen this item at a relatively modest price, I thought I'd give it a try and bought one. It worked OK for me, so like the lights, I then bought another two bags. Yes, 'bags' rather than cases! As cases go this is arguably more 'show' than serious protection, but a lot better than Amaran's cardboard box (as supplied). It's really just a custom outer nylon zip bag, designed to utilise the original Amaran bespoke packing foam. But it works surprisingly well, looks cool, adds a useful handle and is IMO better than a cardboard boxIt probably helps protect when transporting carefully and feels as if it might survive a light rain shower if unloading in damp conditions - but it's not waterproof and I'd not want to place on a wet surface (eg puddle when unloading - but that might be OK, given internal foam). The original Amaran packing foam (which fits inside this bag) will probably help my 200Xs units light survive light kicks, scuffs, knocks and maybe even drops from a modest height. That said it's not a proper case (i.e. 'Peli' grade or tough flight case) that would be considered an absolute necessity in any heavy pro use/hire situation.IMO for any relatively careful 'owner/user' it's a solid purchase at reasonable cost. But you need to be mindful it's just a "convenient bag" not a real case! Just don't kick it downstairs, attempt to pack as airline hold luggage or crush it under heavier kit on the back of a lighting truck. It won't be appearing in lighting rental houses anytime soon, but I'm hopeful it will serve my currently modest owner/user needs.

I love it and hate it! lol
Ok 10/10 for good thinking! hands down I like the idea.but I still feel like I'm paying to much, because I'm paying for the idea rather than the materials.I have to explain:what you're buying isn't the cushioning/padding.you're buying the material that turns the padding from the original box the light comes in.then you put the old styrofoam in to the bag. the bag is just material.so ye, I love it and hate it! lolis it worth £20? well with the padding, yes! it does the job well. although I might tape it together to be a bit more robust.I think its kind of genius! but.... I wish it said clearly to keep the styrofoam.

Not much to it but works brilliantly
It is just a simple bag but it fits the foam perfectly and seems like a durable material. Miles better than transporting in the box. Only gripe is that the ID slot on top has been sewn on totally wonky, but it doesn't bother me too much. Overall very happy for the price

Fits very well but thin material
Perfect fit but not very rugged. Not sure how long this will last but it's better than the card board box. for this price it's worth it
