Economical solution for my situation
I have installed and replaced a fair number of posts over the years. Used these as the least expensive way of being able to remove a rotted post at some point in the future. There is a 9 inch thick layer of rock about a foot below the surface so I dug holes, cut the spikes to suit, fitted the posts and strutted them in position and concreted them in.(Guess this isn't particularly helpful for most people considering using these but it worked well for me)Posts usually rot at ground level, a tip that might be useful is to apply a coat of car underseal to the post up to about 2 inches above ground level. Been doing this for the last 10 years and it works well.

definitely heavy duty
your fence won't fall down if you use these but be prepared to dig a big hole and you will need some space around you to do that. considering how heavy they were I thought they were great value when delivered.

Good quality - hard to keep straight
Have just used them for a garden arch. By cutting some wood to go inside them I was able to hammer them into the good witha rubber mallet without digging. No I appreciate they are perhaps designed for fence posts, so it may be easier to keep them straight with a fence post as lever, however with just some short wood just to hammer them its very hard to get them in dead straight. Very nice quality. Tip. If you press them into the ground upside down you can see the square where the top of the box will be when all the way in the ground. This lets you position the spike in the centre of the square you have just created in the soil.

Worked for 2 garden gate posts, hopefully for a medium dexking too
2nd Purchase of these post sockets.I bought this lot to hold and support a medium sized decking frame, half way up a compacted chalk & flint slope. As delivery times are quite long at the moment, I didn't need the spikes when I bought them, because I was waiting for deliveries of railway sleepers to make a retaining wall first.Unfortunately these are exactly the same as the previous spikes I ordered, though this time I actually thought I'd ordered the shorter versions, so I will have extra work cutting these down to the size I actually want. Other than that, they are ok for what I need, but not the best on the market being only spot welded 2mm steel, though they should outlast me - hopefully.1st purchase. They worked. Used to hold up 2x 75mm x 75mm gate posts, easier than concreting in the posts.Only spot welded together so I don't know how long they will last and the steel isn't as thick as the ones you can buy in b&q, etc. But as I've also set these into the ends of two walls they should be fine. Not sure they would work if your soil was full of stones though, I think they might bend or buckle trying to get them in the ground.UPDATE 5/05/20These post sockets are doing well, no movement even though the gate these gate post sockets are attached to is in frequent use everyday. But that may also have a lot to do with my building and installation skills.

Almost what I wanted
I say almost as I thought they were the shorter one :-D but that was my fault!! They are well made and so far spot on. Solid hold and the fence looks great!
