We've used these filters for our stainless steel counter-top compost 'bucket' for years -- and have never been disappointed. Naturally they need to be rinsed/cleaned out periodically, but that makes good sense. They fit well in the bin, and are easy to employ. I don't know about the composition of them - but above all, they do exactly what they're made for, and do it well.
