As they tell you, you MUST have Sync 3.4, you'll know if you do if your screen says "USB Unavailable" or something before the install. I did my own software upgrade 6 months ago but didn't get the USB upgrade until today. Took about 2 mins to install, I didn't need any tools except a small screwdriver to push some tabs in to remove the wires. Worked immediately, as soon as I plugged it in. I don't think it's quite the same wattage as my phones oem cable but charges faster than it dies at least. Anyway, great product, just READ THE REQUIREMENTS before buying and complaining it doesn't work on 3.3 or below 🤣

We have an Expedition that was the year before CarPlay was added. Found out that our Sync version would allow for CarPlay but it needed a different USB port. This one allowed us to get CarPlay but also added USB C support. It has been working now for months without issue. Excellent upgrade!

my 2020 ford escape usb is hardwired there for this plug will not work as advertised. It dose not have a plug.

Use your brain when ordering...I didn't do that and ordered the incorrect size, even though my car was listed as needing the large size. When I got the correct part, it was a struggle to get the original out...order a mini pry bar (little screwdriver with a bent tip) and save yourself time and aggravation. You may need to look at the new part to figure out where the clips holding the original in are. All in all, a perfect fit and easy install to replace the original in a 2020 Escape.

I updated Sync to the latest version and lost Apple CarPlay in my 2016 Ford Expedition. This instantly fixed the USB not supported error and Everything works flawlessly now. Also updated my old usb to usb-c and usb 3.1 which was a nice bonus.

Easy to install. Literally plug and play definitely boosted up my charge from my old usb.
